Don't Get Scammed When Calling The Toyota Helpline

Some Toyota owners might have been calling the wrong Toyota helpline, resulting in unwanted charges, according to 9News

The official Toyota helpline is 1-800-331-4331 and the other number is only a single digit difference.  What happens when you call the other number?  There's a message saying that you will be charged $5.96 if you call the real helpline and then goes on to say because of the volume of calls, the scammers would like you to call yet another number for more information.

When you call the second number, that's when you're billed and asked for your social security number in order to process your request.  No only do consumers loose their money but also become victims of identity theft.
