Dirt Cheap Electronics: It's Probably a Scam

Posted Thursday, September 10, 2009

Today I happened to run across a really shady Web site offering really cheap electronics ... like an unlocked iPhone for $300 and a brand new Acer laptop for $189. What's funny is the people behind the site want you to send the payment via money order. Sites like this scream SCAM.

The latest Web site touting bargain electronic accessories is Capsiena.com. These Web sites change supposedly physical addresses and names frequently. Capsiena's latest  address is on Sierra Morena Boulevard in Calgary and pre-payment is by Moneygram only, with detailed instructions as to how to get the money to a certain individual. This is a persistent fraud and traps the unwary ordering online.
