Delta Raising Checked Bags Fees

Posted Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Travel-Recreation

Delta Airlines is raising its fees to check your first bag on a domestic flight by $8 and a second bag by $7, according to The Detroit News.

Beginning Tuesday, tickets purchased on or after January 5, are affected by the new fees. However, tickets purchased before January 5 are subject to the current fees -- $15 for the first bag and $25 for the second.

It’s important to note that the new bag fee will not affect all Delta fliers as it only applies to travel by coach within the U.S, U.S. Virgin Islands , Canada and Puerto Rico. Elite frequent fliers, first class, and active military personnel on deployment, are exempt.
