DC, Virginia, Grocery Shoppers Prefer Reusable Bags

Washington, D.C. grocery shoppers have turned to using reusable bags since the passing of a 5 cent fee on disposable bags, according to The Washington Post.

Even though the 5 cent fee will go towards the cleaning up of the Anacostia River, many residents are finding that using their own bags not only saves them money but also helps the environment. Plastic bags harm environment and by not using brown bags, you save a tree.  

The D.C. Law is making Maryland and Virginia residents more conscious of their bagging habits but the law isn't stopping there, toting reusable bags has also become popular in Hollywood with stars like Justin Timberlake using green environment-friendly bags.
