Data security breaches fell last year but that doesn’t mean there are fewer data breaches, according to
Forbes Magazine.
Windows is still vulnerable to viruses, malware, scareware, spyware and data breaches. Non-profit Identity Theft Resource Center monitors data breaches and requires companies to report when computer security is compromised.
According to the ITRC, 498 disruptions occurred in 2009, down from the 657 in 2008 but almost double than the security breaches in 2007. So what accounts for the fewer breaches?
Security breaches do happen but may not be properly reported, or disclosed by the company.
