Dangerous Counterfeit Electronics A Growing Problem

Dangerous counterfeit electronics made in China and Mexico can electrocute or set your house afire, if you're not careful according to KOMO News.

The problem is, so many of these electronics use counterfeit safety seals deceiving the customer into thinking that they are legit. There are however are some signs you can look for when shopping. Consumers should be wary of electrical product that don't have a brand name or doesn't list a company name and address or a UPC code.

Spelling errors on the packaging are an obvious warning sign and consumers should be skeptical of products with ridiculously low prices.

You can also protect yourself from being scammed by shopping at well-known stores or Web sites since well known retailers won't risk selling counterfeits because they take greater care of the merchandise they stock.
