Cut Your Grocery Bill Twenty-Five Percent by Doing Nothing

Believe it or not, it's actually possible to cut back on groceries and save money, according to KOMO News.

You can cut your grocery bill by 25% by not shopping and using the food you already have.  Okay, so the refrigerator looks bare and there's not so much in the fridge either but if you look closely, you may already have the ingredients to create a meal for four without making the trip to the grocery store.

Have some 4-month old tortellini and grilled hamburgers or other meat? If you have frozen chicken and rice, that's dinner.

It's also a good idea before making that trip to the grocery store to make a list. Lists prevent you from buying something NOT on your list.

Buy what you can at the dollar store (like toiletries) before you head to grocery or Target. You'll be surprised what you can get at the dollar store and save a bunch of $. Then, only buy things that are on sale/special and only buy things with coupons. By only buying things on sale/with coupons, it will also force you to try things you may not have thought to try before...and you'll like it! Search for recipes online instead of buying cookbooks.

Another great way to save money is to EAT before you go grocery shopping! When I go to the grocery store hungry I buy more food. Everything looks great when you are hungry, thus you buy more!
