Credits Taxpayers May Forget About

Tax Day is right around the corner and even if you have already filed, did you know there are tax credits you might have missed?  FiLife reviews some tax credits you might have not known about. 

The most common tax credit is the child tax credit, but there are still countless others such as the foreign tax credit ($15 mil) education credit (almost $7 mil).  There's also a tax credit for consumers doing regular maintenance at home, such as reducing energy. So if you've given your home a 'green-friendly upgrade' recently, you might be eligible for a tax credit.

Finally, there's retirement savings contributions credit, worth $1,000 per person for couples who earn under $55,500.
