Consumer Watchdog groups asked the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice and Congress to investigate Comcast's “TV Everywhere” promotion, according to Consumer Affairs.

The major concern is that Comcast's service blocks out competition in the Internet TV market.  The service allows Comcast subscribers to watch various TV shows online but only if they have subscribed to the company's traditional cable service. Another worry is that the service is designed so that consumers cannot cancel their subscription or turn to competing services that use over-the-air digital streams.

But the no-compete Internet TV isn't the only reason Comcast has recently come under fire. Last month, Comcast merged with NBC-Universal, making them the nation's largest cable and content provider.

This is just the latest controversial/shady thing they have done. They are really a horrible company in every way. Worse customer service than the IRS! I finally switched to another provider after repeated failures to get help with something, and when one of their goons started telling me my very legitimate complaints were 'unfounded' and banned me from their online help forums (where I had ended up out of desperation, trying to get solutions from fellow customers).

'In 2004 and 2007, the American Customer Satisfaction Index survey found that Comcast had the worst customer satisfaction rating of any company or government agency in the country, including the Internal Revenue Service.'
