Brittany Murphy Scareware

Actress Brittany Murphy died on Sunday but already, cyber criminals are exploiting her death, according to Tech News Daily.

Fans interested in learning more about the actress search using google. But scammers are posting fake fansite links search results, so when you click on them, a fake anti-virus scan pops up, scaring users into purchasing security software harmful to their computer.  

If you download software from an unknown user, it’s likely loaded with malware, spyware and viruses. In the end, you end up doing more harm than good in trying to protect your computer.  Windows users need to be especially careful.
