BBB Offers Data Security Guide for Small Businesses

Posted Thursday, January 21, 2010 in Computers-Internet-Technology

The Better Business Bureau’s “Data Security – Made Simpler” offers small businesses free, easy to understand guidance and resources to prevent data security breaches.

Partnering with Symantec Corporation, Visa Inc., Kroll’s Fraud Solutions and NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association, the Data Security website is broken down into three sections: Handling Data, Customer Relations and Data Community.

The key points that Data Security covers are how to develop a data security policy that protects sensitive data, identifying and using the right kind of tools to protect sensitive data based on the type of business, communicating data protection policies to customers and what businesses should do if they suspect they have become a victim of a data breach.

To find out more about Data Security, you can visit www.bbb.org/data-security/ or read the full article about BBB’s Data Security Initiative by clicking here.
