$8 'Snuggie' check could cost you $150

Snuggies have become quite a popular novelty lately ... they even have a snuggie for dogs. Along with the popularity, you would probably have to expect some scams or other questionable sales practices to pop up and guess what, they have.

An article I read this morning on KOMO News talks about a man who bought a bunch of Snuggies for presents online. After his purchase, he received a check in the mail for $8 with the return address "Snuggie." He assumed it was a rebate check and cashed it. What he didn't know was that by cashing the check, he was signing up for an annual membership for Great Fun -- a discount travel and shopping program. That membership would get him billed $150 if he didn't cancel it within 30 days (you would have to read the small print to realize that).

Pretty sneaky isn't it? Great Fun actually bought the mailing list of customers off of Snuggie. Do you think Snuggie should be selling their customer info?
