In May 2023, BBB contacted Allwood Tree Service  regarding claims in its advertising. Its website includes the logo for the International Society of Arboricultural (ISA) and the statement "As members of the International Society of Arboricultural, we stay up to date with the latest best practices in Urban Tree Care."  Its website also states that the business is "Licensed and Insured."  Several online directories include these claims as well.  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. The business did not respond to BBB's request that it provide proof of current ISA membership, licensing, and insurance. 

As of March 2025, the company's website is no longer available; however, the 'licensed and insured' and member of the International Society of Arboricultural claims remain.
