The Better Business Bureau of
Coastal Carolina is issuing a warning about a local business that hasn’t been
delivering on its orders. Over the past
five months, nine (9) complaints have been reported to the BBB concerning B&T Commodities, also known as B&T Electronix or Lawson Electronix, owned by Timothy Lawson. Of the nine (9) complaints, five (5) have gone
unanswered by the company, which lowered their rating to an ‘F’. The concern about the business has risen due
to the fact that all of the complaints are similar in nature, and that they
have stopped responding to the BBB altogether.
Consumers from Utah, Alabama,
California, North Carolina, New Jersey, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and New York have
ordered products via B&T’s websites, paid for their purchases, but never
received anything in return. The
majority of the purchases made from the company’s websites were HP Touchpads,
and the costs of the orders vary from $120 to $400.
The business responded to the first
four (4) complaints that the BBB received, but then stopped communicating with us and with their customers. B&T has removed all of their websites,
any information on their Facebook pages, and their phone numbers are no longer
working. The BBB has tried contacting
the business by phone, mail and e-mail, but communication has been
returned.
B&T has also claimed, in their
advertising, that they are BBB Accredited with an A+ rating. This is false. B&T Commodities, B&T Electronix, or
Lawson Electronix is NOT Accredited
with the BBB of Coastal Carolina, and has the worst rating possible: an
‘F’.
