ANOTHER ADVANCED FEEwith Western Michigan Address
Who doesn’t need a loan in these uncertain times, hence “advance” fee loan scams continually pop up. The Better Business Bureau of Western Michigan has been bombarded with phone calls, inquiries and complaints about a local address in Grand Rapids. The bad offer is from:
Ameristate United Financial
99 Monroe AVE NW
Grand Rapids MI 49503
“Calls and complaints to the regional BBB will at least have the latest information and an“F” report on this never-ending loan scam” claimed BBB president Ken Vander Meeden. “We checked it out ASAP and found that:
· International phone number never answered; only leaved message
· Fax number is a Detroit area line
· Website originates from somewhere in Russia probably.
· 99 Monroe address does not have this company as a tenant per realty company agent
Advanced fee loan scams charge “up front” fees to scam desperate consumers, worse yet they require significant personal identity information which can also be destructive for unaware consumers” Vander Meeden stated.
This has been going on forever, with better technology making the offer look better each year. We have written numerous warnings, alerts, and BBB tips on this subject. Only the names and addresses change so we issue more “red flagged” names for those of you who check things out first.
BBB advises: “When in doubt; check it out” at www.bbb.org .
