CFPB Announces Plan to Supervise Consumer Reporting Agencies

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recently announced its plan to supervise the nation’s biggest consumer reporting agencies under their new rule that will take effect September 30, 2012, reports CNN Money. This rule will allow the CFPB to monitor business practices, conduct on-site examinations, and write new rules. The new rule comes in response to numerous complaints from consumers claiming that their credit reports are inaccurate and they are having trouble correcting them.
