Arlington, Va., September 7, 2005 - The Better Business Bureau (BBB) system and ClearPoint Financial Solutions, Inc. today announced the launch of a national partnership to boost consumers' financial well-being by providing education materials on credit issues.
ClearPoint Financial Solutions is sponsoring BBBTips™ on Credit, a series of articles and radio public service announcements to assist consumers who want to improve their financial situation through better credit management and responsible debt repayment. All of the information will be free and available online at www.bbb.org/tips/clearpoint.
"In 2004, BBBs received more than a half-million inquiries on credit/debt services and agencies, and processed close to 11,000 industry complaints. There is a definite need for trusted information that consumers can refer to when determining how to select a reputable credit counseling agency, fix their credit report, improve their credit score, and resolve their debt problems. Partnering with ClearPoint Financial Solutions will expand our efforts to address those ongoing needs," said Ken Hunter, president and CEO of the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB), the national organization for BBBs.
ClearPoint's director of marketing, Amida Mehta, said, "We are proud to join with the BBB system on education outreach to provide consumers with superior information tools that will help them to identify the source of their credit and debt concerns and to choose reputable services and tools to achieve financial security."
ClearPoint Financial Solutions, Inc., a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping consumers achieve financial wellness through counseling and education, is a member of the CBBB and the Better Business Bureau of Central Virginia. In addition, it is the first not-for-profit organization to qualify for System-wide Membership in the BBB system.
Being a System-wide BBB Member signifies that ClearPoint supports the BBB's services to the public and is a member in good standing of every Bureau that serves areas in which ClearPoint has branch locations across the nation. ClearPoint also participates in the BBB's Membership Identification Program and the BBBOnLine Reliability program. This means that the company has agreed to use special procedures including mediation and arbitration, if necessary, to resolve consumer complaints.
"Our status as a System-wide Member of the BBB helps reaffirm our company's dedication to providing the highest quality service for our current and prospective clients," said Dan Oelrich, president and CEO of ClearPoint.
The BBBTips™ program supplements other helpful information provided by Better Business Bureaus to promote an ethical marketplace.
