    I feel that I am being gouged by Little River Electric Coop. I have called twice to the office and have received no remedy to my plight. I was charged $161.95 by Little River approximately within the last week and a half. This account was opened, I believe in October 22, 2022 in order to perform minimal services in my EMPTY house that we were readying to sell. I needed to have the HVAC checked out (I was selling house as is and wanted to make sure the HVAC was non-operative.) I had an HVAC service from **** Branch come with my realtor, and he said the the HVAC was non-operative--this was about 1 month or so ago. The house is cold and there is no HVAC running. We have nothing as far as appliances in the house. We are hooked to city water in *******, SC. My bill was $23 for the same period as the electric. I called to complain, and they kept insisting "SOMETHING is running--what I don't know! We have no appliances. I even cut power off at the breaker after I got this first bill. Today (1/19/23) I got a bill mailed to me for $219.71! I again called and was told "SOMETHING is running. I was told I will get yet another bill for a 10 day period from 1/9/23-1/18/23! This is a cold house. Have only used electric to occasionally turn on a light for a brief period, once to check the HVAC, and once to allow a maid to clean the bathrooms for 3 hours. My current house in another city is seldom this much WHEN I AM LIVING IN IT! I feel that I am being gouged (because they can) and taken advantage of. No remedy was offered. I feel that these bills should be much less. Maybe the meterman read the wrong house or similar. I want my bill reduced greatly--I should not have to pay these exorbitant bills. My sister, under another electric company, (she lives in a manufactured house) was $109 for her last bill. They drafted my first bill out of my account late, with no warning and caused my checking to be overdrawn.

    I absolutely love the Staff at Little River Electric!! They are always so welcoming to talk with. They’re honest and hard working people doing everything to make sure we have electricity. There have been times where I’ve run short on finances and the staff helped me to get back on track with a payment plan. Best electric Company EVER!!!! Rhdonda and BECKY are the GREATEST!!
