Better Business Bureau serving Upstate New York launched an investigation into Hero House Giveaway 2014 after receiving public inquiries about the promotion. BBB investigators reached out to the organizer, Michael Eggers and the New York State Gaming Commission-Division of Charitable Gaming about the prizes offered for the raffle, which included a grand prize of a custom built home, valued at $250,000, as well as other high ticket item prizes. The price of the ticket was $100 each.
The organizer stated to BBB late Monday that Hero House Giveaway 2014 will cease operations and that refunds will be issued to those who have already purchased ticket.
Business supporters and raffle participants are asked to contact BBB investigations with any further questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
BBBs investigation was initiated after confirming with the Gaming Commission the regulations required for games of chance were not being followed.
