Complaint: I had them come to my home back in February, 2012 to remodel my bathroom. They were supposed to rip out a rotted floor, but only ripped out a small section of the floor and the floor is unlevel at that point and they needed to rip entire floor out, as it said in the contract because I'm afraid that the floor is still bad. Also, in the shower there is water getting behind the paneling they put in, and you can see at bottom of shower the wetness that has stayed there the entire time. Their ad said owner on-site, but he was not there because he had gone to Florida and let a young guy handle the job. I tried to contact him (the owner) repeatedly, but he had health issues and didn't return from Florida for months. When he returned I called him about the issues and told him I did not want to deal with ***** anymore because I felt by then he was the one who created the problem and the owner still sent ***** to "fix" it, when he should have come over himself. ***** came over and tried to do a "quick fix" with just calding around the shower once again. The problem is still there because it is going to rot out again because the sheet rock behind the paneling in the shower is definitely going to deteriorate.
Desired Settlement: The owner should assess the problem and oversee fixing it himself, not a young guy that tries to act like he knows it all, and doesn't. He tried to con me I think.
Business Response: BBB spoke to ***** from company. ***** has reached out to the consumer and is very willing to come back to the house and look at the possible shower/water problem. He has not received a return call. ***** has asked the consumer to contact him at ###-###-#### to arrange a time to come out and the view the issue.
***** is not the owner of Angelo's Roofing, **** is. I have had ***** over to the house several times, and he has not fixed the problem. I feel I should be able to deal with the owner, not *****, because he is young and he created the problem. I have called Angelo's many, many times over those 3 dates that I had to choose when submitting the original complaint. ***** has called me once since the complaint was submitted, but did not leave a message. ***** is only in his 20s, but talks a good game. I feel it is my right to deal with ****, the owner of the company, because in their ad it specifically states that owner would be on premises, and I never even met ****! I told **** also that I wanted him to come over, not *****, but yet he made me deal with *****. It was very bad workmanship and there is a 2 year warranty and the fix ***** made will not last because of the water getting behind the shower wall, so really I am back where I started. I have been very patient because ****, the owner, was in the hospital is what I was told. If **** does not respond I will take this farther.
Business Response: Last week I spoke to ***** and went over the consumers rebuttal - the consumer wishes to speak to the company owner ****. While it is ******* contract and he is responsible for following up he agreed to ask **** to call the consumer to go over her concerns and possibly work out a mutual agreement of how to proceed.
I did get a call from **** and he left me a message to call *****. I am very confused as when I called about the job, I spoke to **** and told him he had a good review at the BBB and he said if there's ever a complaint, he fixes it. Was there fraud committed and ***** portrayed himself as an employee of Angelo's when in actuallity he wasn't? Also, in Angelo's ad, there is nothing about *****; there is ****** cell phone number and a message phone number for ****. I am very frustrated because **** left town, even though their ad says owner is on the job, I left many messages on his message phone trying to get ahold of ****, but nothing happened for a long time, no response from **** until I just kept calling. The contract I have says on it Angelo's and there is supposed to be a 2 year warranty, but they are not honoring that. I don't understand how **** can say it's *****'s responsibility when I based my choice on it being a job done by Angelo's, and their high BBB rating. The shower is just as bad off as before I had the work done. If I have to take this to court to get it resolved, I will, because this going back and forth and **** passing the buck is getting very old and my patience is gone for this; the job was done in February, 2012 and I have waited and waited to get a satisfactory resolution.
I have talked to ***** yesterday only because I called him and he is supposed to call me back today after checking his schedule to let me know when he can come back.
BBB's Final Determination: Consumer accepted resolution offered by the business.
