Nominated for Inclusion in Princeton Premier?

July 15, 2008

Did you recently receive an email telling you that you were being considered for inclusion in the Princeton Premier?  None of the consumers who have reported this email to the BBB had applied for this honor themselves, nor had they been told by anyone they knew that they were being nominated.  In fact, a search of the Internet shows hundreds, if not thousands, of consumers all received the same email.

The BBB believes this email was a mass notice sent to entice consumers to pay to have their name published in a book (or online) and to pay to be part of Princeton Premier’s networking site.  In addition, there are some questionable aspects to the company, which you should be aware of:

  • The company does not list their address on the website in clear view so you will know who you are doing business with.
  • The form you are asked to fill out does not provide even any basic information such as a phone number, email or address.
  • The terms and conditions listed on the company’s website (when it is ultimately found by using a search engine), indicate the company will be selling your information to third parties, that when you pay them for a networking page there are no refunds after 48 hours, and that a 20% fee will deducted if you cancel within 24 hours.
  • This company is not affiliated with Princeton University.

In short the BBB urges you to check companies out first – and delete any email you think may have the remote possibility of being spam!  It isn’t worth the risk to put any personal information onto the Internet with a company you don’t know.

Below is the email that is being sent to consumers:
