I'm a contractor and went into have 5 foot by 6 foot shade for my client made. The quote was $396, plus another $27 to be paid upfront and I was told they were backed up for two weeks. I thought that was pretty steep pricing for such a small shade, but had used them a few years back and thought maybe I just didn't realize how much things had increased. A couple of days later I was getting some different materials and the business next door was a Shade manufacturer so I popped in to get a quote because I still was having some doubts about the original pricing for Tucson Awning. The exact Shade fabric sewn the exact way was quoted to me at $167. I immediately call Tucson Awning to cancel because it had only been a couple of days and she had been adamant that two weeks was the soonest it could be made. When I called to cancel she put me on hold then came back and said I couldn't cancel as they were just starting the job..... Hmmm So when I went in to pick up the Shade I confronted them with the other quote and asked them to adjust the price. I didn't ask to beat the quote, just be more reasonable. That's when things got pissy, she claimed there was nothing to be done about the pricing and It was a done deal. I believe the business has changed hands as they are remodeling (badly). So buyers beware... get other quotes as there are much more reasonable choices out there. I'll be disputing the charge to my credit card company as we consumers need to stand up to rip off artists like this.. Sorry for the long winded review.....

We appreciate all feedback and would clearly disagree with the customers response, and to be called a rip off artists is childish. A customer has the right to compare quotes; however, you do that before you purchase a product or service, and not after the product is complete and ready for pick-up. You do not have the right to make a purchase and then try to renegotiate the price once the product is ready. We do offer a cancellation policy if made within three business days from the transaction date. This customer was well beyond three days on the cancellation request; otherwise, we would have met the request. Rather than blame a business, take ownership for your actions, or in this case, the lack of action prior to making a purchase. Depending on what the customer is ordering, we will do our best to match or beat a competitors price; however, this requires an actual quote from the competitor (before the purchase/contract is made), and not a hand written note on a torn off piece of paper. We have been in business for more than 50 years in Tucson and service thousands of customers a year with a solid reputation of workmanship and integrity.
