The Receptionist is responsible for responding to incoming calls to BBB, helping consumers and businesses with information provided by BBB and assisting with various other clerical duties.
Job Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: BBB office is located on the 20th floor of the Metropolitan Square Building in downtown St. Louis. The address is 211 North Broadway, Suite 2060, St. Louis, MO 63102.
Job Description: The position entails answering the telephone to help direct callers to the correct person or department. Also, the position includes summarizing and inputting information into BBB’s database.
Requirements: A college degree is required. One-two years of work experience is preferred. Good typing and/or computer skills is important. Excellent oral and written communications skills is required. A good command of the English language is expected. Absolutely must be a team player with a positive attitude. Must pass a grammar exam.
Skills: Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, ability to show empathy, ability to explain and enforce BBB policies and procedures are essential. Having good organizational skills and being detailed oriented will help greatly in ability to perform duties of the position.
Salary/Benefits: Salary $25,000 to start. Increase after 90-day probationary period based on performance and attendance. Health and dental insurance, pension, personal time off days (details provided at interview), promotional opportunities are all available.

BBB is looking for a qualified intern to join our investigative team. A qualified intern will work one-on-one with our BBB Investigator in several capacities. Interns will do database research, telephone and in-person interviews, obtain court records and more.
This intern should be a team player, have a willingness to learn, have a desire to uncover and expose unethical business practices and have a passion for serving public interest. Interns will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of investigative skills, interpersonal communication skills and journalistic writing, to name a few.
BBB is looking for an undergraduate student in the St Louis area who is majoring in Business, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Journalism, Law, Media Studies, Sociology, or Social Work.
This person should have a good command of the English language, excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience with detailed research. Microsoft Word and Excel experience is a must and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this internship position. Basic photography skills are a plus. Reliable transportation or other ability to get around is necessary.
