Complaint Category: Failure to honor refund, exchange or credit policies

Complaint: This company failed to refund my deposit following the agreed on 10 days to find a carrier to ship my vehicle. Customer service has been unresponsive
On 7/11/11, Worry Free Transport charged my credit card $105 as a deposit for shipping my car. The contract stated that after 10 days, if they were unable to find a carrier, my deposit would be refunded. They were unable to find a carrier and there for I had to seek out a different company. When trying to contact Worry Free to receive my refund, my messages went unanswered. I was finally able to speak with _____, who claimed that the previous secretary was let go and wasn't surprised that I hadn't received a phone call. She expressed that she would go through the books and follow up within a few days. This was over a year ago in Sept/October of 2011. I called twice more and left messages and never received a call back. To this day, I have yet to receive my refund.

Business' Initial Response
The customer is due a refund. We had trouble with quite a few part time employees. I have been out of the office for quite sometime due to illness. I was told the matter had been resolved. The refund will be processed.

Business' Final Response
I am sorry I did not respond sooner but so many "fake" cases were coming into our email from the BBB that we got a virus in all computers and so they were no longer opened.

Complaint Category: Non-delivery of products

Complaint: I arranged my car to be picked up from San Mateo, Cal and to be delivered to Federal Way, WA via Worry Free Transport. I spoke Mostly with _____, I was prompt with my deposit and gave them my credit card details and filled the form online as required.

Once however they had that deposit I felt from there onwards that I was stuck, it has been a very unprofessional experience especially from the company and now the driver as well.

We arranged the car to picked up either during or after the Thanksgiving weekend as I was in California for that weekend. They arranged twice for drivers to call us and asking us to pick the car up before this date and than I had to keep calling them to rearrange the previously requested time.

I don't know how the trucking company works but it seems impractical to get only a few hours notice that the car needs to be picked up, at least a days notice would be fine but each call was basically the same, a driver has been assigned and your car is to be picked up today.

That is more to give you an idea how it was leading up to the main issue. So finally the driver came and picked up the car on Mon 28 Nov, he wanted extra $40 for tolls, who charges $40 for tolls but he dropped that afterwards.

I was advised by Worry Free Transport that the car would be delivered by 29 Nov and I waited all day with not a single call/update. Called them around 4:30pm and the driver said he was in Portland and he might be either late or unable to deliver till tomorrow. Unfortunately due to time zone issues I was unable to contact Worry Free Transport the same day.

This morning once again I did not get any calls/update so called the driver again and he said the truck is in a workshop, yet he told me last night he was leaving Portland and now he is still there.

I rang Worry Free Transport and spoke to _____, she told me she could do anything if the truck has mechanical issues, my response was well the car was supposed to be here yesterday, she rang the driver and told me he advised her that "should" be fixed today (30 Nov) but of course there is no guarantee nor eta.

I have spent all of yesterday at home waiting by my phone to make sure when the car came I was ready and not make the driver wait etc, I think I deserve the same courtesy and now I believe I have a right to be compensated as for the whole duration the communication was non existant. _________ even said herself she had "no idea" that I had not received the car on the 29 Nov, that seemed to beyond unprofessional to me, like they had my money now they did not care.

Also I have to stay at home for another day not knowing if I will get my car or not.

Business' Initial Response
Worry Free Transport is a broker. We assign the car to a driver to deliver. If his truck breaks down or the weather is back, etc we have no control over this. We gave Mr. Consumer the only information we had. That was from the truck driver. Mr. Consumer is not the only customer that is receiving his car late because of the breakdown and I am sure it was NOT an enjoyable experience for the driver. I have been assured (once again going on information given to me by the driver) that Mr. Consumer's car will be delivered by 5 PM today. If Mr. Consumer wants reimbursement because of late arrival he will have to speak with the driver. Note: All dates that are given for pickup and delivery are estimates. Every customer is informed not to sit and wait for the driver but to have the driver contact them and work out a delivery time. Persoannlly, I believe if Mr. Consumer wanted to complaing to the BBB his complaint should have been directed to the truck driver not Worry Free. Once the car is assigned to a driver he takes responsibility.
