            Problems with Product/Service
            Status:
            Answered
In January of 2021 I paid storm guard roofing and construction $10,358.75 to replace my roof. This money was obtained by filing an insurance claim with AAA on my home. My furnace has recently stopped working well, and I had an HVAC company come out to see what the problem was. The HVAC professional went up on my roof and discovered that the vent cap for the vent stack that vents my hot water heater and my furnace was completely closed, had been put on too tight. That meant that those appliances were unable to vent at all. He loosened that and put a gap in there so that now that stack can vent, but it has rusted out the bottom of the pipe, my heat exchanger, and the inside of my furnace. The roofing company claims that they don't do vent caps, that they didn't deal with it at all, and it's not their fault. The items like the vent cap and the flashing for that vent stack are on my itemized receipt, meaning I paid for them. I have had no other work done on my roof, and they are the ones responsible for this problem. They refuse to discuss the matter with me any further. The HVAC professional said that he sees this type of problem all the time from roofing companies, that they put the vent caps on too tight which doesn't allow the stack to vent properly. I need these items replaced, and I don't think that the expense is mine. I believe that it is the fault of the roofing company, and I want them to take responsibility.

DO NOT USE THE COMPANY IN *******, **! Salesman for new roof left company less than a month after we signed our contract. ***** contacted us with I formation regarding timeliness and general information, we had to call them. Actual roof work was great. However, the company picked up the remaining supplies of 2 FULL boxes of shingles, a full box of roofing nails, and various other used boxes and rolls of supplies THAT WE PAID FOR, and they are refusing to pay us back for those supplies. So they can now resell those for an additional profit. Roof work has been done for 2 weeks, no final bill yet so we called a few days ago. We were told that final bill would be sent that day. NOPE, still haven't received it.And, we had that same salesman come in and measure and take photos for replacement windows months ago at same time roof estimate was signed. Still no quote from that project either, even with several phone calls made to *********** told us that they'd email that to us right away. Long story ******************'t use this company.

*****, We take your concerns seriously and want to address them. We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced with our company. This is not reflective of our standard practices, and we are committed to rectifying this situation. In regards to your window replacement quote, we have searched through your file and have not found a quote or window measurements that the salesperson you were working with at the time was putting together for you. We apologize for not providing you the quote that was promised. In relation to the materials that were not credited to you, as I explained to you on the phone, our roofing materials supplier closes at 4 p.m. and our crews work until dark to ensure a timely replacement of your roof. If we find that we are short a few bundles towards the end of your roof installation, we are not able to purchase more materials after 4 p.m. If that were to happen, your roof would be open overnight until we could come back the next day with more materials. We want to protect your home and avoid an open roof overnight, if at all possible. For this reason, we always order 2-3 more bundles of shingles and roofing materials than what your insurance company pays for and approves to be installed. We do not charge your insurance company for those extra materials. That is a cost that we incur to protect our homeowners, their home, and the contents of their home during every roof installation we provide. We are addressing the delay in providing your invoice to you. Our aim is to provide fair and transparent transactions for our customers and we needed our production team to look over your final invoice to ensure its accuracy. When you phoned us on Friday evening, our production team was still working on a project and unable to look over your invoice. We apologize that we were unable to provide the invoice over the weekend and we were able to deliver that to your email Monday morning. We understand the importance of customer service and our call logs show that we were in contact with ***** many times throughout this process. If you would like, we can add your contact information and phone number to the account so that we may call you with updates as well. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention and we thank you for your understanding. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us directly at: ************.
