I am writing you to file a complaint against Family First Exteriors, LLC, a company I hired, through Home Advisor. I am a senior citizen who has become the victim of unfair and deceptive business practices by Family First Exteriors, LLC. In April 2021, I hired Family First Exteriors, LLC, 15009 Manchester Road, Ste. 261, Ballwin, MO 63011-4626, to replace a roof on my home, replace windows, remove and install gutters. The cost was $18,367.43. I paid Mr. **** ****, Family First Exteriors, LLC $16,667.42 dollars. Invoice# ********** April 23, April 27 and May 14, 2021. He told me I had to pay that money before the job was completed so I did. Unfortunately for me he did not complete the job. I contacted him several times from May through July 2021 about the matter. He did not return my calls nor texts. I called/texted him July 2021 because it rained and my bedroom was leaking water profusely in an area he supposedly had repaired. He did not respond. I called/texted Mr. **** again and finally, in late July he responded and said he would come and take a look. On the day of our appointment he arrived before our appointment time, before I returned home from work. When I got home my neighbor informed me **** had come by and said the job had been finished, what he had already completed was all he was going to do. He picked up supplies he had left there in May and left. I called him. He told me no further repairs would be made, he had done all he was going to do. As I look through the invoices I see the following charges for work that was never performed: Item 20. Remove and Replace Vinyl Siding on Dormer $1,500.00 Item 21. Remove and Replace Window $ 700.00 Item 23. Repair Damaged Wood $ 500.00 TOTAL: $2,700.00 I am requesting a refund of $1,000.00 (the difference between the amount of the invoice $18,367.42, the amount I paid $16,367.42, and the charge for work not performed as listed above, $2,700.00). In addition, the gutters he replaced are incorrectly placed and now when it rains, water leaks into my basement, creating a new problem. Also, I recently found out that it does not appear he had the required permits from the City/State to perform any work on my house. Overall, Family First Exteriors, LLC failed to make some repairs as promised, and I was overcharged. This is my complaint. I am asking you to look into the matter. Thank you.
