BBB has received numerous complaints against Midwest Recovery Systems Inc. The pattern of complaints allege the company is reporting negative to credit bureau's about consumers debt, does not give written notification to consumers to alert them of debt owed, consumer states they do not owe the debt, or debt has already been iand overall poor customer service.
On July 25, 2016, BBB mailed a letter to Midwest Recovery Systems, Inc about our concerns with the number of complaints and the pattern. On July 27, 2016, Midwest Recovery Systems Inc. responded to the BBB letter indicating they do not purchase any consumer's debt portfolios, and services 100% of its accounts on a contingency basis, meaning we get paid on a percentage of what is collected. Per FDCPA guidelines, there s a 30 day validation period that is available to consumers, starting from the original assignment date the accounts were sent to Midwest Recovery Systems Inc. for collections. If the account exceeds 31 days from assignment, and goes unpaid, leaving an open balance outstanding, the accounts are automatically reported to the credit bureaus.
