I had my 2015 Camaro LT taken in for an inspection. I was 25 at the time, and female. So they give a vehicle health report. And man, theres a couple things wrong. First, they said my tie rods were worn and were about to fail. The picture they attached circled my tie rod? They circled my drive shaft. Another thing, they attached a photo of my serpentine belt, with the words wear marks and an arrow pointing to the ribbing on the belt. The ribbing is supposed to be there. To keep the system in line and together. Now granted, I took it in July 2022, and Im just now too the point where I can go through and start upgrading parts, but as I went back to look at their recommendations, Im not convinced I even need half of what they said. I havent been under my car yet, but if you cant tell a tie rod from a driveshaft, you shouldnt be saying theyre worn and quoting me about $500 to fix it. I dont know if it was because I was a woman and young, or maybe the technician was inexperienced, but this is outrageous. I appreciated the professional way they spoke to me and dealt with me, but it seems deceptive to claim these things are wrong and provide photo evidence of it, and be so wrong.
