Life situations occur and sadly I was served a garnishment which was attached to my bank account. The garnishment was withheld from my bank account in October 2022. *** held the money and did not release the money to pay the garnishment. When I inquired I ended up with a second garnishment for the same account plus interest. ANB placed a second hold on my account and REFUSED to pay the original garnishment. It took until February 2023 and several phone calls to attorneys and the bank before the funds were released. ANB Bank collected interest on money that they refused to release for months and although I paid my debt the creditor was not paid in a timely manner. I am concerned that ANB Bank does this on a regular basis and holds money and receives interest they are not legally able to. In my communication with the employees it appears that no one takes responsibility for what is going on and it takes an attorney to get involved before they release money for a debt that they collect on. I would request the owners (*** and *****************) be made aware of this and that investigation be done to see how many funds they are not releasing.
