I purchased a car from Phillong Value Car the end of October (less than 90 days) The car started acting weird so I took it into Value Car December 28th the manager told me to bring it back in the next day so they could look at it. The next day the car broke down 4 times trying to get it to the dealership. The manager told me he would take care of everything because "we wouldn't sell a car that would breakdown in 2 years let alone 2 months". Unfortunately, we did not get the extended warranty because we believed the dealership did a complete inspection before it was sold. After taking the car in no one ever contacted me, I always had to call or go down to the dealership to get any kind of answers. Finally, the manager told us the engine had blown and there was no way this could have been something we did to cause this problem. He said he would be able to get the engine replaced or get me into another vehicle. I spoke to the manager yesterday 01/03/2024 and was told the general manager said if they (me) didn't get an extended warranty then it's a closed case and we can't do anything. I literally made one car payment and the engine blew. I saw in the contract we could purchase an extended warranty up to 90 days after the purchase date. I asked about that and was told since the engine was not under the warranty at the time it blew, it would not be covered if we purchased the warranty now. The manager specifically said this is not something that could have been done by me within a month and a half. They said the could offer a trade in for about $1,000 and the rest would be added to a new car. So basically $1,000 off of the $19,000 and the remaining $18,000 would be added to a new car loan. This is completely ridiculous. The manager made a lot of promises and in the end nothing can be done to help. Keep the car and let me out of the contract. I shouldn't have to pay on a vehicle that blew up in less than 90 days, especially if you know it's not something I did.
