Lemon Law for Colorado/Autoline Participants
BBB INTERPRETATION OF THE COLORADO LEMON LAW (AUTOLINE BELOW)
Please understand that the BBB is not a legal agency and, therefore, cannot implement the Lemon Law in any fashion.
The Lemon Law in Colorado applies to new vehicles only and generally states that the vehicle has been in the shop for four or more times for the same item of repair and/or in the shop for a total of 30 days or more for the same item of repair.
We do suggest that you do get a copy of the Lemon Law from the Law Library which is located at the Penrose Public Library. Research Law Library: (719) 531-6333 X2309. To implement the Lemon Law, you must go through an attorney.
The BBB does have a program called Autoline that may be another option for you to resolve your problem with your vehicle. This program is one where certain manufacturers have pre-committed to mediate and arbitrate complaints with their vehicles. (Ask make of vehicle and if it is on our list, give the caller autolines number for more specific information on the program) 1-800-955-5100.
PARTICIPANT IN AUTOLINE INCLUDE;
AM General, Acura, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Ford, General Motors (Chevrolet products), Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Izuzu, Kia, Lexus, Lincoln, Mercury, Nissan, Porsche, Saturn and Volkswagen.
In selected states, these folks also participate (consumers can always take a chance and call...)
