Beaumont, TX - May 6, 2014 – Entergy Texas, Inc. in Beaumont, Classic Forms & Products, Inc. of Beaumont, and Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont and Orange are the winners of the 2014 Torch Awards for Marketplace Trust presented Tuesday night, May 6, by Better Business Bureau Serving Southeast Texas during its 17th annual awards presentation banquet.  The event was held at the Beaumont Civic Center with over 500 in attendance.

BBB Consumer Education Foundation, Inc. helped to contribute to the Scholarship Funding that includes all four-area higher education institutions - Lamar University, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College - Port Arthur, and Lamar State College - Orange.  Proceeds from the Torch Award Banquet and silent auction allowed BBB to contribute toward scholarships for college students across Southeast Texas.  Total contributions over the past 17 years now totals $215,000.

The event provided a fresh collaboration of local business and thought leaders, all practitioners and models in the area of workplace ethics, that offered a unique presentation to those who seek to integrate ethical standards of excellence with solid business practices.  The banquet was an incredible evening of “vision, values and experience” with keynote presenters like Lamar University’s Jeff Dyson and Region V’s Jim Baxter emphasizing the importance of principle-centered leadership.
