|Customer Review Experience||Value|
|Positive Review||5 points per review|

Complaint: I have been banking with First Convenience Bank for 9 months now and when I brought in a $6,500 check on 07/14/2013, they refused to cash it since they could not verify it through the issuer's bank customer service hotline. I was told to bring it back the next day for further verification. 07/15/2013- Deposited check. Check placed on 9 day hold. 07/22/2013- I learned the check reversed by 1st Convenience 07/24/2013- Check still held. Branch Manager said she would contact Loss Preventions. 07/26/2013- Branch mgr said she needed the issuing company to notate their account to grant permission to First Convenience to verify check 07/29/2013- Issuing company states check cleared on 07/16/2013 & agreed to contact branch07/31/2013- Issuing company complies with 1st Convenience's request. I was told my funds would be released in 24 hours 08/02/2013- Check was still on hold. Apparently, 1st makes ANOTHER REQUEST for company to submit paper work verifying the check had cleared. Company complies. I'm told that the funds should be availble by the end of the business day 08/02/2013 - I'm informed that First Convenience provides the company ANOTHER REQUEST to have their bank submit verification themselves. 08/07/2013- I finally recieve a call back from the district manager about this discrepency 14 days later from my inital request sent by customer service. I was told on 07/22 I would receive a call within 72 hours. I resubmitted my request 2 additional times for this date. 08/08/2013- I receive ANOTHER REQUEST from 1st Convenience to have the account representative to fax them a letter verifying herself as an employee of TD ****** Trust and rep of the company's acct. I contact TD ****** Trust cust. service line myself and the Acct Rep calls me bck immediately. I asked the District Manager to please return my check if they cannot release my funds. He said that the bank no longer had my check and that First Convenience Bank could not return it.
Desired Settlement: I would like the funds released within a reasonable time frame, or if 1st Convenience Bank does not have the proper tools or expertise to verify the check on their own I NEED MY CHECK RETURNED IMMEDIATELY. I also would like to request any bank fees accrued at this time to be refunded.
Business Response: Consumer's Final Response /* (3000, 6, 2013/08/16) */ The issue has been resolved. The OCC contacted First Convenience Bank on 08/13/2013.
