Additional Notes

Complaint: In March of 2013, we purchased a new 2013 Ford Focus from Energy Country Ford. We traded a 2012 Ford Focus in, which was also purchased from Energy Country Ford because we were having issues with that one. In July, the car started making a rattling noise then started hesitating off and on. ****** **** took the car to Energy Country Ford around August and one man told him it was normal for the car to do that and another man there told him it wasn't normal. They made no service report. We think they might have been tired of dealing with us because of the issues the 2012 had had. We took the car to ******** when the car got worse and started hesitating. ******** has worked on it twice and the issue will go away for about a week or two then starts again. The car is making a bad rattle noise and hesitating pretty bad when trying to accelerate. In January of 2014, the car shut off while I was backing out of a drive way and I rolled back into the street.

Desired Settlement: We would like the car to be fixed and the difference from the 2012 and 2013 paid back to us or for the car to be paid off with whatever interest is accrued.

Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2014/03/14) */ Customer has been having repairs performed at ******** Ford. Energy Country has not performed any repairs to this vehicle as it relates to the addressed complaint. Ford Customer Rep., ***** ****** has tried 3 times to contact ****** **** at XXX-XXX-XXXX. Each time the phone rang 10 plus times with no voicemail opportunity. The calls were placed March 7, 2014 at 11:16 AM, March 11, 2014 at 12:49 PM and March 12, 2014 at 2:53 PM. Currently, Ford Special Service Message (SSM) Number XXXXX addresses 2012-2013 Ford Fiesta and Focus equipped with Powershift 6-Speed (DPS6) Transmission Operating Characteristics. While this is a 2 page article we gladly provide it to our customers. It states, "Some sound and shift characteristics of this transmission are different than other conventional automatic (Torque Converter) transmissions currently available." Some of the sounds a customer may hear are "Double Clicking Metal Sounds", "Coast Down Whine", "Clicking After the Engine is Turned off", "Low Speed 'grinding'" and "Reverse Gear Whine." We will be happy to supply Mr. **** with a copy of this document. As for his other concern(s), we have had no opportunity to repair his vehicle and will be willing to do so provided the customer can demonstrate the concerns. ***** ****, Owner Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2014/03/17) */ Consumer contacted BBB by phone requesting that the complaint be closed as the vehicle has been traded in at another dealership.
