Complaint I had Hurricane Doors installed. They are not installed correctly. Botched job. Purchased Hurricane Sliding Doors 3-29-12. Installed May 2012. Model#PGT HPSM 770 SERIES. 143x96-0XXO INVOICE#0860. PAID $8000.00 with check. The doors were not installed right. We had another licensed installer look at the doors and were told me they are the wrong size. Never leveled, missing parts. Totally not hurricane proof. The receipt states that engineering and permits are included. Checked with the City of Boca Raton and no permits were never filed. They showed up two times to repair saying they needed parts. They are not responding to correct the issue and I totally do not believe these people are capable of this job. Do not want them to try to fix, its so bad. I do not have $8000.00 to throw away.
Desired Settlement I want the doors installed correctly. They are not capable. I want my money refunded.
Business Response The SGD were installed properly.according to an inspector. The 4 panel sliding glass doors are the correct size. The problem is the stationary door needs to be secured so it cannot move. We have had a difficult time in acquiring access because he is angry. We are in the process of competing what ever has to be done The permit #XX-XXXX
Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) No one has gone to fix anything. The installer or business says that I have not gave them access to the property because I am angry. The reason they could not get in is because I live in New York and the person who helps me out was away. On Tuesday, December 10,2013, Florida Window Parts is suppose to go with window representative from PGT to look and fix the problems. When I am satisfied that the job has been completed I will drop my complaint with the BBB.
Business Response Spoke to ****** from member who states issue has been resolved. She says she had gotten so busy she forgot to respond but the issue has been resolved with the consumer.
The information in the table below represents an industry comparison of businesses which are of the same relative size. This is based on BBB's database of businesses located in Southeast Florida and the Caribbean. Businesses may engage in more than one type of business. The percent of time the business engages in a type of business is not accounted for. There is no known industry standard for the number of complaints a business can expect. The volume of business and number of transactions may have a bearing on the number of complaints received by BBB.
BBB records show the issues raised in the complaint have been resolved. Either customer confirmed the complaint has been resolved, or business confirmed the complaint has been resolved and customer did not respond to BBB correspondence informing customer that complaint will be considered resolved unless BBB hears otherwise from customer.
