I never recieved my portfolio book and the CD of pictures I recieved, half are unusable.
In early March of 2014, I participated in the Audition America Tour contest at my local mall. I got the call saying I'd been selected, walked the runway and did a monologue. They said I was booming with talent and that all I needed was the pictures. I paid $300 for a photo shoot that consisted of two outfits, and I would recieve a set number of pictures and poses, along with a professional portfolio book. I have been trying to contact this company for 8 months. Of every time I have attempted the call, it has only connected once and went directly to voicemail. Every other time it sounds as if the line is disconnected, never-ending ringing, or that their mailbox is full. The one time I was able to leave a voicemail was about two weeks ago, and I told them to please give me a call back. At no point in the voicemail did I include my email address, but I recieved an email a couple days later saying that their records showed my portfolio "returned to sender". The fact that they emailed me now shows they had my email address in their records, but at no point did anyone reach out to me months ago when they allegedly got the "return to sender" in shipping. In their email they said if I responded by 5pm that day, they could have the book shipped overnight for me. I responded that same day stating that I had no need for the book anymore and wanted a partial refund for it. At the time I was first offered the deal, there were promises of modeling work in Texas. I understand the way the industry works and so I am not complaining about that, but now that I see through their lies that there has been no work in Texas all year, I have no need need or desire for that portfolio. Had I recieved it originally, I would not be complaining. However, now that I'm seeing there is no work, I have no need for the portfolio and do not want them to overnight it to me just a few months before my "modeling contract" expires. I have been emailing every day for close to two weeks, and I'm yet to hear back.
As far as the quality of the pictures go, I was originally not going to complain because, although about half of the pictures are unusable (blurry, badly cropped or edited, or not a good picture overall), there were some good shots mixed in there. However, with how disrespectful the company has been in not responding to me and not answering their phone, I want to include the quality of the pictures promised in my official complaint. I gave Audition America the benefit of the doubt when I was told they are a scam, but I deeply regret that. I could have had headshots done locally, for much less than they charged, and the images would have been high quality.
I would like a partial refund of $150 for the unusable photos I was given, and the portfolio book that I was never delivered. I originally paid $300, so I believe a refund of $150 is fair seeing as how about half of the pictures I recieved were unusable, and the book I was promised was never recieved. I will not stop until I recieve my refund.
Hello,We will be sending a refund check in the amount of $150 as well as the portfolio book. Once a tracking number is available we will respond back.
