My first complaint hardly feels important compared to the rest of what I have to say, but - I took the Understanding and Utilizing RRT course. He never taught how to utilize RRT, it was a ripoff, but he talks a lot about how much language matters and how you can use it to reimprint the subconscious mind.*TRIGGER WARNING*I was shocked and deeply upset by *************************** language. There were MANY times his language was wildly inappropriate. He uses crass language while simultaneously "teaching" how much words matter and impact the nervous system and subconscious mind. In one instance, he even referred to a woman as a b*tch. More than once he directed women to say that they have a "vagina" while the expressions on their faces and their hesitance to repeat the statement clearly communicated their discomfort. At no point in the training did he instruct a man to say "I have a penis". He also became visibly more gleeful and excited to listen to participant's stories of childhood sexual abuse. He perked up in his chair and even said something like "Oh, ******" as he enthusiastically moved into describing children's sexual experimentation. He brought up the topic of killing babies multiple times and, in one instance, graphically described how easily one could kill them. His language was descriptive, violent, and sexual. How does this type of explicit storytelling adhere to the idea that the words we speak matter and leave a lasting impression on us in a way that influences our lives permanently? This was contradictory and unprofessional, and if words do matter as he says they do - you could say that this was actually harmful. I took this course to find access to healing, but instead felt subjected to behavior that felt profoundly unhealthy. I stuck out the classes in hopes that I would still come out of the course with a new tool. I can't believe I had to pay to sit through many hours of this. I wish I had recorded it, but I was just not anticipating what happened.
