I contacted Freedom Law Group 1 yr ago to assist with application for VA aide and attendant benefit for my 87 yr old mom as the surviving spouse. I dealt with **** initially who sounded like he could get the benefit. I paid $1,750. Initially **** stayed in contact but then told me too much about his personal life and having to re locate his office. He was belligerent and threatening. I jumped thru all the hoops along the long lapses in communication. I was told that a intent to file was submitted to the VA in June 2021, I called the VA myself in January 2022 and they have no record of intent to file on record. I finally called to speak with the actual attorney **** ****** in February this year to request a refund that was promised by **** if he could not qualify my mom for the benefit as long as she did not pass on or I did not provide the information needed. **** told me **** was gone and he has a new person working for him that would assist and assumed me that he would have this as a priority. I have since asked again for a refund. I get reply saying he sent me forms he never got back. This is not true. I should have been weary when there was no contract only a verbal agreement and they took my money thru some appt. This is ***** and I intend on pursuing a small claims filing but wanted to report them to the BBB first to see if they can help me get the promised refund. This is disgraceful as my mom has lost a year of benefits that she needs for her home health care.
