Complaint Contracted thru Home Depot to install door. Do. Made mistake in county permit. Contacted contractor thru customer service. Last 3 weeks promised to Call back, never did. After over 25 call from me still have no status on issue. Waiting for answer, meanwhile my door if half way done exposing us, unsafe house entrance, cause cancellation of plans which cause cancellation fees. Need to say we were the one who found out what happen with inspectors as the claim they try to contact them with no luck. We tried and on our first try talk to them and found out they put the wrong address on permit form. We were the ones that told them about their mistake. No sense of customer service or responsibility.
Desired Settlement Monitor contractors on small jobs
Business Response In response to the complaint referenced above. A permit that was issued by the county to perform work for Mr. ********* The permit was issued with a typographical error on the permit. The house number was transposed from 1704 to 1740. In order for us to have a final inspection that would pass we needed to revise the permit with the correct address. We revised permit and had it mailed to customer on 7/2/2015. We called customer on 2nd also but there was no voice mail and we were unable to leave a message. First number just rings and second number no voice mail was set up. We emailed the customer set up the final inspection for 7/6/2015. The final inspection has taken place and the job is complete and permit closed.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This happened after over 25 phone calls made by us to business. Also, we were the ones that notified business of typo error as we contacted the inspectors. The installer did an excellent job, but their customer service personnel does not meet our expectations. Customer service personnel means to us the persons that answered our calls.
Final Business Response The typographical error was made by the municipality, and a revision was required by the municipality. We had to go through the protocol required to do the revision in order for the municipality to pass the inspection. The error and revision were out of our hands. As soon as the municipality issued the revision we were able to call in the final inspection. We tried diligently to reach the customer finally reaching them by email and the inspection was completed and work was passed.
