My wife and I (Dutch Nationality) have lived and worked in Charleston SC for about 11 years. Due to the Covid pandemic, we had to decide to return to Europe at the end of 2021. For our move we used an international moving company in Charleston, namely ****** and ***. A certain guy, **** ******** from the company, arranged everything for us, including packing the goods and loading the container. He also made lists for each part that went into the container. In short, he knew exactly what we were bringing. These household goods included valuable paintings, statues, important papers and goods that have a very emotional value for us. He also arranged transportation for our passenger car, a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, a fully restored 1952 Chevy Ice cream truck, a 2019 Dodge Promaster Ice cream truck, and a new trailer with a heavy built- in generator. We also had to give **** the original titles of the cars for the preparation of the export documents. He would send it directly to the address we gave him. However, he never sent them to us, but much later to their location in the Netherlands (in the wrong hands it turns out later). We had to prepay all transportation costs. We were really convinced that our moving goods were in good hands, but afterwards it turned out that we as consumers had gone into business with a company with completely wrong intentions. They played this **** very cleverly. They envision very high extra charges and hold onto your goods to force you to pay. Knowing that legal proceedings are very expensive, take a long time and your goods are dear, they count on you to pay. In our case we were unable and unwilling to pay these extra high costs ($ 53000) with the result that ****** and *** took our goods. We had never heard of this “Moving ****” until a couple of days ago. It seems that this kind of **** is common in the US. Be aware for this Company!
