            We chartered a poorly maintained catamaran for 6 days. In less than 24 hours from starting the charter the generator broke down. Having chartered catamarans for years we tried to resolve the issue but could not. Notified the owner and the mechanic. The mechanic tried to get to us to bypass the security switch preventing overheating but was not able to explain how to do that. The co-owner (wife) offered a charter refund which we accepted (even though our vacation was ruined) and brought the boat back to the company dock later that afternoon. Since then I have received a letter from the owner stating that no refund would be issued. A few days later they offered a 25% refund. The boat was badly neglected as the depth finder did not work properly, the ** in the salon was blowing hot air (in July!), cushions were missing, etc. On top of everything they tried blaming us for not being able to repair their poorly maintained boat. The owners are arrogant, irresponsible and simply lied about the charter refund.
