Our file contains a pattern of complaints from consumers alleging that they have received multiple harassing phone calls from Partsbase Inc. Some consumers have described these calls to be high pressure or rude in nature.

On April 12, 2013, BBB sent certified correspondence to Partsbase Inc. requesting their voluntary cooperation in resolving complaints on file with BBB and providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaints.
On April 16, 2013, Partsbase Inc. responded to BBB's concerns. PartsBase states they are in the business of a pay-for-use service on a subscription basis which allows aviation buyers and sellers to locate and list parts for purchase and sell around the globe. Often times, Partsbase will receive inbound registrations to their web page for access to their subscription database from aviation related accounts seeking to locate a single part for an "aircraft on ground" situation. Initially, when Partsbase's sales staff contacts the customer, they will be very friendly and enthusiastic. However, after the customer gains access and finds the part, they become evasive and then refuse to take a follow up call. The sales staff is instructed to make follow-up with all registration customers and to follow through. Needless to say, in these cases more often than not, the customer misrepresented interest in order to gain the access with no intent to buy the service.
As a result of this, Partsbase Inc. has recently begun a screening process to preclude access to these immediate customers who then evade follow-ups after gaining the part they want through their service. This persistence translates to aggravation on the would-be customer. By holding these requests for a two week tenure, Partsbase says they have found that what they now see happening is a flushing and or screening of these types of accounts from the registration and a vast reduction in wasted time for staff and reduce chasing calls of clients who were not interested from the start.
BBB reviewed this company's complaints again on June 24, 2013 and found that the pattern still exists.
