In 2022, I signed a contract with Palm Air for them to install a new Air Conditioning unit along with new duct work throughout my home. The unit would be relocated to a more convenient location in the house. The agreement clearly states that Palm Air would pull "ALL REQUIRED PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS". However, after the unit was installed, they realized that they would need an electrical outlet in the new location which didn't have one so they just ran an extension cord down the hallway, in front of my bathroom until an outlet could be installed. I was not happy that they asked me to find an electrician and pay for the work myself when this wasn't included in their original proposal, and I had already paid $25,000 to have this project completed. So, I just waited for the city inspector to come and let them know that it wasn't good enough. However, after about 3 months the inspector never came, and I became suspicious that they actually hadn't pulled the permits at all. I checked with the city and found that they had not pulled any permits for this work, so I began calling Palm Air to ask about getting this resolved. For the last 6 months, I've been calling about getting this taken care of and they've just made excuses or said that they were working on it. I finally got someone to come out and to look at what needed to happen to complete the job and they told me that they would call an electrician and start working on the outlet. However, he also indicated that moving the electrical was something that they didn't plan on and that I would need to tell the city that the unit has "always been in that location" to avoid the need to pull the applicable permits. Now I understand that there was never any plan to pull these permits even though that was included in the price that they charged me. Now they have stolen my money, which appears to have been the plan from the beginning and have spent nearly a year avoiding fixing the issue despite my constant calling.
