Complaint
My requests to discontinue sending me "advertisements" are not being honored.
I began receiving ************* from *************** "advertisements" (via Bulldog Media) some time ago. I did not subscribe nor opt-in to receive these emails. Previously, the emails were just deleted with other SPAM that I receive. In ********, I decided to take a more active approach to dealing with the SPAM mail and began "unsubscribing" to the various emails received and reporting those that do not offer that option. I initially attempted to unsubscribe from the *************** advertisements on *******, receiving a message stating "You have successfully unsubscribed". I continued to receive these emails but tried to remain understanding that it may take some time for my information to be fully removed from the system. Although, I have "unsubscribed" from this "advertisement" on the following dates: 0*******, ********, ********, ********, ********, ********, ********, and again today (********) - a total of 8 times, thus far. In addition to unsubscribing via the link in the email, I have also utilized the additional CAN-SPAM link at the bottom of each advertisement to unsubscribe from the following domains:
- ****************** (**** & ****)
- ************************* (**** & ****)
- *************************** (****)
- *************************** (***)
- ****************** (****)
Of course, each of the above "unsubscribe" options states my email address will be removed within 24 hours which is clearly dishonest.

Further attempts, on my behalf, were made to discontinue the spamming. Upon selecting the "privacy policy" link that is available from the unsubscribe page of the *************** advertisement I was led to a page for BULLDOG MEDIA. The site indicates the following:
"We also allow you to unsubscribe from our database. If you unsubscribe from our database, your information will no longer be used by us for secondary purposes, disclosed to third parties, or used by us or third parties to send promotional correspondences to you. You can unsubscribe by writing to us via postal mail at the address below or by requesting removal via the contact us form."
Conveniently, this contact form REQUIRES that your enter your full name, phone number, company, website, and email address... so of course, I have "willingly" provided my information for your use - nice backhanded way to gather personal information. Nevertheless, in an attempt to stop this spamming I submitted the following, via this contact form, on *******:
I continue to receive ************* Card offers from ***************, via Bulldog Media. I have "unsubscribed" numerous times, yet I continue to receive these emails. I did not subscribe to nor did I opt-in to receive these offers. Please consider this my formal request to permanently remove the following email address from your database, any affiliate database, and immediately discontinue the "sharing" of my information:

I do not wish to be contacted by a representative via phone nor am I interested in any of the services you may offer. I simply want my information removed from your system immediately.

Clearly, my requests are NOT being honored and my email address continues to be "bounced" around to different domains. This company is not in compliance with the CAN-SPAM laws and is showing blatant disregard for my privacy. I have reported this to the FTC and feel that it is important to report it with BBB as well, as I am certain I am not the only one dealing with the hassle of continually trying to "unsubscribe" or opt-out of something that I did not opt-in for and do not want. I am keeping documentation of each email and the actions taken, on my part, to remove my information from this company's system. I want my email address permanently removed from your database as well as the database of any affiliate or 3rd Party marketing companies your business utilizes. Additionally, I request that my email address not be sold/brokered to other companies or domains.

Business Response
Bulldog Media Group has been looking into this issue since receipt of the BBB complaint. We take this matter seriously and appreciate the opportunity to clarify and respond.

We have searched our databases for the email address **********************, but the email address is not in our databases and no emails have been sent to that address directly from Bulldog Media Group. Bulldog Media Group also does not own or operate any of the domains listed in the BBB complaint.

We do partner with ********* to manage the Suppression List for the ********* program, which is why our site was found when clicking on the Privacy Policy link, and we did locate the email address in that suppression list.

With regards to unsubscribing from the email lists, since we do not own, operate, or manage the emails lists, we have no insight regarding "each of the above "unsubscribe" options states my email address will be removed within 24 hours which is clearly dishonest."

Using the information provided in the complaint, we also utilized our 3rd party email tracking software and did a look up to locate the emails sent from these domains. Using that information, we contacted the partner responsible and stopped all activities with this source.

I appreciate this company's response and the additional effort to utilize the 3rd party email tracking to stop the spamming. While I am realistic enough to know this will not stop the spamming, I am hopeful that it will help minimize it.
