Additional Notes

Complaint: I have paid in full for a bathroom remodel done by All American. When the sink was put in, the owner told me that if it didn't work out, he'd just swap out the part at ****** (which they have already confirmed with us both that they will do) and put it in. I already paid him for the $125 in labor costs. I am not responsible for the faulty item and the owner already thought there might be a problem with it. He implied the swap would be done if there was a problem, not if I paid to have the job done again.

Desired Settlement: There is no cost for new parts, per ******, and I already paid for the labor on this. I was told this fix would be made and I would like it be done as quickly as possible at no additional charge to me.

Business Response: Business responded to customer and resolved complaint.

Additional Notes

Complaint: Back in May, I hired All American Handyman & Remodeling Services to build a back deck for me. It's a deck with stairs that go into my yard. I was quoted $4800.00, which I paid in two payments, once at the beginning of the project ($2300.00) and once at the end ($2500.00). I paid for new materials and after I paid him the second payment (before I could see the work - he was in a huge hurry for me to pay and seemed very anxious about me having to go pick up a cashier's check; he was insistent that he could not wait long for the payment), I noticed that the boards he used were all cracked. I marked all of the ones that were cracked and took pictures that I can provide if needed. They are cracked all the way through and I'm not sure if they are safe. In fact, one of the steps is so cracked, I'm afraid to step on it. We're so worried about the structure, we won't use it. I spent $4800 on a deck that I don't feel comfortable using. Additionally, the finish work done was so ugly and unprofessional, I don't know if the workers who did this have ever built anything before. There are a lot of gaps in the construction and the handrail is so wide we can't even grip it. I feel that I was taken advantage of because I'm a senior, I'm a woman and I'm a Mexican.

Desired Settlement: I would like Darren to fix all of the broken boards at his expense as soon as possible or provide me with a refund so that I can hire someone who can do the job right to fix the broken boards.

Business Response:

I just returned from California and noticed a complaint from ****
****. **** has been a customer of mine for about a year and I have
done numerous projects for her. I am unaware of any broken or split
boards on her deck. All the materials used were new and I have
pictures of the completed project. Wood can and will split after
installation which cannot be prevented. I am willing to look at and
replace any defective boards to ensure the deck is safe. Please
contact me at ************* so that I can resolve this matter as soon
as possible.

Thank You,
Darren Payne
