The Better Business Bureau held its Sixth Annual Torch Awards Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Northridge Country Club, honoring 11 companies from the Texarkana area.

The Torch Awards are presented to the company that helps create an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other.  Mr. Craig Love, CITRUMS Legal Shield, Inc., “Identity Theft in the Workplace”, was the featured speaker.  Dwayne Butler, BBB Advisory Board Chairman, welcomed those in attendance and Wes Spicher, Townsquare Media Morning Personality was the Master of Ceremonies.

The finalists for the INTEGRITY AWARD CATEGORY were:  Acey Burglar Alarm Systems, Nantze Electirc Company, and Queen City Funeral Home.  The winner of the Integrity Award was Nantze Electric Company.

The finalists for the CUSTOMER COMMITMENT AWARD CATEGORY were:  Cass County Equipment, 1st Bank, and Ocean Canyon Properties.   The winner of the Customer Commitment Award was 1st Bank.

The finalists for the GOOD NEIGHBOR CATEGORY were:  Express Employment Professionals, HealthCARE Express, and Wells Fargo Bank.  The winner of the Good Neighbor Award was Express Employment Professionals.

The finalists for the NOT-FOR-PROFIT CATEGORY were: Harvest Texarkana, Main Street Texarkana, and Tri State S. H. R. M.   The winner of the Not-For-Profit Award was Main Street Texarkana.

Also recognized at the Torch Awards was the BBB Scholarship at Texas A & M-Texarkana recipient Danielle Hamblett, accompanied by Mayor Bob Bruggement of Texas A & M - Texarkana.  The BBB Scholarship was established to assist business majors pursuing an MBA.
