What is the Student Ambassador Program?
The purpose of the Student Ambassador program is to bring information on scams and frauds to the entry-level consumer. With high disposable incomes, young consumers are easy targets for scam artists. The Student Ambassador program is designed to train students to deliver this information to peer groups on campus. Student Ambassadors will receive two hours of training on the educational information that they will be asked to share. They will then have the opportunity to develop and deliver their presentation to a small peer group. Each Ambassador will be responsible for scheduling a minimum of 3 presentations: one per month from March-May.
Why should you participate?
The program is strictly voluntary, and the student will receive a certificate upon completion of the program, designating them an official Student Ambassador of the Better Business Bureau and recognizing their contribution of volunteer time toward marketplace ethics. Plus, your students will appreciate this as a resume builder. There will be 3 scholarship incentives for the most number of students presented to. A recognition event will be held to award certificates and scholarships. Not only will this be a great experience for your selected students, your high school community will benefit from the value of this important and relevant education.
