Complaint: Back in June we were offered help from this business with FAFSA after sending them $65. We never heard from them again. We requested a refund as they told us to do and we still haven't received it. We call them and they hang up the phone. Very rude and unprofessional.

Desired Settlement: Refund

RE:  BBB Complaint ID: ******** – Ms. ***** *******

Dear Ms. **********:

I would like to notify the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of San Diego that Ms. ******* is misrepresenting the truth and the facts in this case and she has filed a fictitious complaint. For the record, Ms. ******* is making the following false allegations:

Allegation #1:  SFRC offered to help with FAFSA

This is not true. SFRC has nothing to do with FAFSA, we have no idea where Ms. ******* acquired this false information.  SFRC is an independent organization devoted to helping students apply for and receive the best available free merit and need-based financial aid. SFRC conducts extensive searches to match each student's qualifications and background to key federal, state, local, and private financial aid programs that are both merit and need-based. SFRC provides students with a comprehensive SFRC financial aid guidebook that explains all of the basics of financial aid and offers valuable tips, practical strategies, and clear guidelines for applying to SFRC’s specifically selected free merit and need-based financial aid programs.

Allegation #2:  We never heard from SFRC

This is absolutely not true. The SFRC processing division received **** *******’s SFRC form in July of 2015; we processed it and sent a comprehensive SFRC financial aid package to:

**** L. *******

*** * ****** AVENUE

*******, IL *****

Student Profile Number (SPN): **********

Allegation #3:  SFRC failed to provide a refund

This is not true. Ms. ******* called our message call center several times and she was informed to send an email with proof of payment to us. However, we never received an email from her until August 14, 2015, after she had already filed a false BBB complaint.  Ms. ******* claimed that her husband (Mr. ******* *******) NOT HER, had sent three emails to us and we never responded. Again, this is absolutely not true. We believe Mr. ******* was sending emails to the wrong email address box and Ms. ******* kept on blaming and criticizing us for not responding to their emails.

Allegation #4:  SFRC is unprofessional rund

This is not true. Ms. ******* called our message call center several times and she verbally harassed our live message call center operators (that is why we were forced to end the calls with her).

We utterly disagree with Ms. *******’s subjective opinion and inaccurate information about SFRC organization, please be advised that we do not take these allegations lightly and our legal team is prepared to take the appropriate legal proceedings to preserve and protect its interests.

We demand Ms. ******* to immediately cease and desist her defamatory and libelous statement against us and submit a written apology to our organization. Once our demands are amply fulfilled, we will show our good faith and will demonstrate our outstanding customer service and will start her refund process.

To be clear, we will demand the following:

  1. A written apology for making defamatory and libelous statement against us and harassing our message call center operators.
  2. Send a copy of her cleared check (front and back) from her bank or some sort of proof of payment to SFRC and we will send your full refund within 10 business days.  (Already Completed by Ms. *******).

Ms. **********, please remove this fictitious complaint from our BBB record. If you have any further questions pleases call 1(888) ******** or email me at c*******@studentctr.org.

Sincerely,

***** *******

SFRC - Executive Director

Consumer Response: Hello! Today I asked Student Financial Resource Center for my refund as they wanted the cancelled check sent to them. (Which I have done).
They emailed back saying they wanted a apology letter for harassing their call center. (Which is not true - both times I called and spoke to the call center - we were polite to one another) And they want me to lie and say that they were never rude to me or that they didn't scam me.
I would of never contacted you for help if this didn't happen. I feel as if they want their name cleared and then still won't refund me.
Can you please help me and guide me to handle this properly.

Thank you - ***** *******

Additional Notes

Complaint: I am a college student living on my own. One day I received a letter from the "Student Financial Resource Center" that had the illusion of being a government agency with some sort of impostor government seal of approval, asking me to apply for the Student Aid Profile Form. The letter states, "Student's can receive, federal non-federal, local, state and need-based financial aid assistance regardless of academic performance or family income. Students can use the money they receive to pay for tuition. Fill out the SFRC form, enclose the refundable processing fee, and mail both in the pre-addressed envelope. The entire processing fee will be refunded to all student's who do not qualify or do not receive financial aid money". Because I am like the many other that were tricked into believing this was a government agency offering financial aid assistance I sent a money order for sixty-five dollars in with my application. The letter states you will have your results within four to six weeks. I sent in my application April thirteenth, it is now August nineteenth and I have not seen or hear anything. I proceeded to call the company phone number printed on the letter only to get this message: "our office is closed, try calling back normal business hours which is Monday-Friday 9 a.m to 4 p.m. I called Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday all within their business hours only to receive the same message every day. I realized this may be a scam and decided to email the business to ask about a refund. I emailed "info@studentctr.org" printed on their letter, over 48 hours ago and I am yet to hear anything. I am worried that this company has not only stolen money from me but I am also extremely concerned with the fact that on the application form I filled out they wanted my SSN, were i worked, what i did with my spare time, my address and other extremely sensitive information. This is defiantly not okay and I appreciate the BBB being here to reach out to.

Desired Settlement: All I would like to see is my deposit of "sixty five" dollars returned, thank you for your help.

RE:  BBB Complaint ID: ******** – Ms. ***** L. ******

Dear Ms. **********:

I would like to formally notify the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of San Diego that Ms. ****** is making very serious defamatory statements with appalling false allegations against the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization. We would like to inform the general public that Ms. ****** is outrageously misrepresenting the truth and the facts in this case and she has filed a fictitious complaint.

For the record, Ms. ****** is making the following alarming profound false allegations:

Allegation #1:  “SFRC is a scam”

This is absolutely not true. SFRC is an independent organization devoted to helping students apply for and receive the best available free merit and need-based financial aid. SFRC conducts general searches to match each student's qualifications and background to key federal, state, local, and private financial aid programs that are both merit and need-based. SFRC provides students with a comprehensive SFRC financial aid guidebook that explains all of the basics of financial aid and offers valuable tips, practical strategies, and clear guidelines for applying to SFRC’s specifically selected free merit and need-based financial aid programs.

Allegation #2:  “Illusion of being a government agency”

This is not true. All of the SFRC literature has been thoroughly examined and approved by our legal department. We strive to inform students that the literature sent is by Student Financial Resource Center organization and to ensure this, we publish the following in our literature:

  1. We have our name noticeably and clearly in large fonts embedded in our logo, letter and form.
  2. On the front page of our letter we have noted the following: "This program is sponsored by Student Financial Resource Center organization".
  3. On the back page of our letter we have noted the following: "Student Financial Resource Center has directly sent this letter to students and it is not affiliated with any educational institutions or government agencies".
  4. On the back page of our form where students must read and sign, we have noted the following: “SFRC is unable to guarantee results and has no input into the decisions to which applicants will be selected to receive financial aid funds and it is not affiliated with any educational institutions, government agencies or funding source".
  5. We provide a 24/7 automated phone system, daily live message center staff, and have a website that distinctly explains our program.

Allegation #3:  “Impostor of government seal of approval”

This is not true. The U.S. Department of Education logo appearance is significantly different than ours.

  1. The U.S. Department of Education logo depicts a noticeable “TREE” and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

  2. The U.S. Department of Education logo depicts a “SUN with lines going across and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

  3. The U.S. Department of Education logo imprints “DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION” and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

  4. The U.S. Department of Education logo imprints “UNITED OF STATES OF AMERICA” and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

  5. The SFRC logo depicts  the following and conversely the U.S. Department of Education logo does not:

    1. Torch

    2. Book

    3. Column

    4. Eagle

    5. Leaves

    6. Graduation cap

  1. The SFRC logo imprints “STUDENT FINANCIAL RESOURCE CENTER” and conversely the U.S. Department of Education logo does not.

  2. The SFRC logo has imprints “SFRC” and the U.S. Department of Education logo does not

Allegation #4:  “I have not seen or heard from SFRC”

This is not true. The SFRC processing division received Ms. ******’s SFRC form in May of 2015; we processed it and sent a comprehensive SFRC financial aid package to:

***** L. ******

**** ****** RD APT. ****

********, CO *****

Student Profile Number (SPN): **********

If Ms. ****** was not satisfied with the SFRC comprehensive financial aid guidebook, all she had to do was to send us a copy of her cancelled check or some method of proof of payment and we would have been happy to send her a full refund check.

Allegation #5:  “SFRC wanted my SSN”

This is absolutely not true. SFRC has ABSOLUTELY NEVER asked for anyone’s social security number in anyway or format. Ms. ****** statement is fabricated and it is 100% false.  Please ask Ms. ****** to provide proof of this shocking false allegation.

Allegation #6:  “SFRC office is always closed”

This is absolutely not true. Our 888-******** nationwide toll free phone number from AT&T has been regularly operating and functioning since the conception of our organization. We have phone records from AT&T to prove that our phone line is and has been open and functioning Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Eastern Time of every business days. We are not sure whether Ms. ****** was dialing a wrong number or she was using the wrong time zone to contact us.

We vehemently disagree with Ms. ******’s subjective opinion and extremely inaccurate information about SFRC organization, please be advised that we do not take these allegations lightly and our legal team is prepared to take the appropriate legal proceedings to preserve and protect its interests.

We have also learned that Ms. ****** has sent several offensive emails to us with abusive and insulting language. We are not going to tolerate this misconduct. We demand Ms. ****** to immediately cease and desist her defamatory and libelous statement against us and submit a written apology to our organization. Once our demands are amply fulfilled, we will show our good faith and will demonstrate our outstanding customer service and we will start her refund process.

To be clear, we will demand the following:

  1. A written apology for sending offensive emails and making very serious defamatory statements with appalling false allegations against us.

  2. Need a copy of her cleared check (front and back) from her bank or some sort of proof of payment to SFRC and we will send her a full refund within 10 business days.

    San Diego, CA 92122-2936

    Or

She may also send an email with a PDF file of the cleared check image to: Refund@studentctr.org

Ms. **********, please remove this fictitious complaint from our BBB record. If you have any further questions pleases call 1(888) ******** or email me at c*******@studentctr.org.

Additional Notes

Complaint: I helped my daughter fill out a form with Student Financial Resource Center and wrote a check out for $65 as payment for their services on April 23, 2015. We have not heard back from them in any way, shape or form. They have cashed the check I had written to them on May 27, 2015. My bank says it could hardly read the endorsement on the back by them nor could I when looking at the check on line, which worries me even more that something doesn't seem right. I then looked up this business and saw that many people had similar complaints and issues. I am very concerned now knowing all of this. My main concern is for my daughter's personal information that was sent to this company along with my check that has been cashed with no contact from this place of business whatsoever. I am extremely concerned for my bank account information that they now have. I have contacted my bank regarding this and am keeping a close watch but again my daughter's information is also at stake here.

Desired Settlement: Confirmation from this place of business that my daughter's information is destroyed on their end, as if we never sent this application in, and also confirmation that this place of business will desist all further contact with my family, bank, etc.

RE:  Complaint ID:  ******** - Mrs. ***** A ******

Dear Ms. **********:

I would like to notify the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of San Diego that Mrs. ****** is misrepresenting the truth and the facts in this case. In order to notify our clients when to expect to hear back from us, we have published the following information on our Letter, Form and website:

“Once your refundable processing fee is endorsed, the SFRC Processing Division will require approximately four to six (4-6) weeks to process your certified Student Aid Profile Form (SAPF). For more information, please visit the SFRC website (http://www.studentctr.org), under the “Target Delivery Dates” link, to determine your package’s target delivery date.”

According to Mrs. ******, we cashed her check on May 27, 2015 and she filed a complaint on June 12, 2015 (16 days later). As you can obviously see, she did not allow us the 4-6 weeks required after cashing her check to process her Form and mail an SFRC package.

Mrs. ****** is also complaining that she cannot clearly read our endorsement on the back of her check. We stamp all checks with our standard bank information and that’s how we collect payments. Mrs. ****** bank obviously knows where and to what bank account her check was deposited to. This seems like a bank issue, we are not responsible or liable for banks photo and imaging quality.

We utterly disagree with Mrs. ******’s subjective opinion and inaccurate information about SFRC organization. As requested, we will delete Mrs. ******’s daughter information from our computer system and will destroy her original Form.

Ms. **********, please remove this fictitious complaint from our BBB record. If you have any further questions pleases call 1(888) ******** or email me at c*******@studentctr.org.

Sincerely,

Complaint: On March 3, 2015 I mailed the "Student Financial Resource Center a check (#****) for $65.00 refundable processing fee along with a student profile form for my child's 2015 - 2016 Academic school year at NCSU. It state that, "A full refund of the SFRC processing fee will be issued within ten working days." It is now June 18, 2015. When I called the company to inquire about the refund, the operator said that there were no technicians I could speak with and hung up on me twice! I have informed North Carolina State University of this event for this is where it was delivered to. I would like a full refund ASAP.

Complaint: This company seeks individuals that are not familiar with the student financial aid processes. They send out letters which look "official" with a government seal - or a seal which looks to be official. Additionally, they request a payment of $65.00 for services that do not require money,i even found out later that you can get this info at libraries for free! I was taken advantage of by this company. I had no idea that these services are free and you don't have to pay for them. When I tried calling their company, no one answers they said they where closed by an automated machine. This is not a business its a scam to take money from people and make them believe there getting financial aid. The company website does not list anything other than to "apply". However, I applied through an "official" looking letter i received. This business is terrible and is taking advantage of individuals. This should be posted on every University's and Colleges website, so no other parent or student can be taken advantage of.

Desired Settlement: reversal of the $65 paid for these non-existent services

Complaint: This company has sought out individuals not familiar with the student financial aid processes. They send out letters which look "official" with a government seal - or a seal which looks to be official. Additionally, they request a payment of $65.00 for services that do not require money, namely applying for financial aid for college/universities. I was taken advantage by this company. I had no idea that money should not have been exchanged. When I tried calling into their company, no one answers and it is only an "answering service". There is no one to speak with. The "person" or "operator" says that she cannot help, but can only take your name and will email the company and have them call you back. This is a disgusting way of business, actually it is not a business but a scam to take money from people under the disguise of assisting their children. The company website does not list anything other than to "apply". However, I applied through an "official" looking letter we received. This business is terrible and is taking advantage of individuals. This should be posted on every University's website, so no other parent or student can be taken advantage of. Desired Settlement: I am requesting reversal of the $65 paid for these non-existent services along with $52.00 in bank fees

Desired Settlement: Refund of $65.00 and $52.00

Complaint: The letter specifically stated that if you complete the form and send in a payment of $65 you may be entitled to receiving financial aid/scholarships and if it was determined that you were not eligible, you would receive a full refund back. My check posted weeks ago and still no response has been received. According to a google search when I didn't hear anything back, it appears that this was a scam.

Desired Settlement: I would like to have my payment refunded to me plus the amount of the postage, as I am a single parent trying to send my daughter to college and I truly thought thatI would receive some help. I was mislead.

I would like to formally notify the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of San Diego that Ms. ******* is making serious defamatory and libelous statement against the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization and she has filed a fictitious BBB complaint.

Please keep in mind that it typically takes our mail room 5-10 business days to prepare Student Aid Profile Forms (SAPF) for computer data entry. We ask students to visit the SFRC's Target Delivery Dates link on our website (top) to learn about their target delivery dates.

Consumer Response: This email is regarding the complaint #********.  My check posted on June 19, 2014, almost a month ago.  After reviewing other comments online regarding this agency, others has viewed this as also being a scam and not hearing back from anyone regarding financial aid.  This is considered poor customer service.  In fact, this is not my first inquiry.  I have placed several calls without receiving a response back in a timely matter.  Once I receive an apology as it relates to the call center abruptly hanging up on me while i was attempting to ask a question, you will receive an apology.  The call center should be adequately trained to better handle matters on behalf of the agency.  I did attempt to contact the agency directly without resolution.  It is of my opinion that this was a trick thinking that I was actually going to obtain funds to help pay for my daughter's college expenses.  I could have gotten theses type of resources for free; I was misled.  In researching this agency, I have read nothing but negative comments from other customers about this agency.  I can barely afford to pay for my daughter to go to college, therefore I cannot afford to waste my money on a company who does nothing but take money from senseless families.  In closing, I have requested a copy of the cleared check from my bank, and I will be sending it to you for my full refund.  Thanks.

Dear Ms. *******:

Please advise your clients to contact us first before filling a complaint. This is the first time we hear about Ms. *******u’s case and we wished she had contacted us directly and we would have been glad to assist her. If clients do not contact us, we are unable to assist them.  The SFRC organization is in the customer retention business and we strive to provide exceptional customer service to all students.  SFRC is dedicated to exceed our customers' expectations on a daily basis.  We provide a 24/7 automated phone system, daily live message center staff, and have a website that distinctly explains our program.

As explained on our letter and website, we as ask students to call our nationwide toll-free phone number at ************** between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM EST Monday through Friday. All initial nationwide toll-free phone calls are transferred to a local SFRC’s live operator message call center. We ask them to provide their contact information, along with the Student Profile Number (SPN) listed on the SFRC letter, and an appropriate SFRC representative will call them back promptly. Ms. *******u never left a message for us to call her back (she must call us during our business hours).

Please keep in mind that we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Generally it takes our mailroom department 5-10 business days to process the Student Aid Profile Forms (mails are opened, SAPFs are separated from payments, payments are verified and SAPFs information are entered into our computer system).

Once we have the students information in our computer system, it will take 3-4 weeks to process it and mail a SFRC package to them. If they did not receive their processing payment within 10 business days, this means they will be receiving a Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) package. We have published all of the target delivery dates on our website and Ryan L. Barrienau (her son) is scheduled to receive an SFRC package in the next 1-2 weeks.

If Ms. *******u does do not wish to wait to receive a SFRC package,  please ask her to send  us a copy of her cleared check from her  bank or some sort of proof of payment to SFRC and we will send her a full refund within 10 business days.

RE:  Complaint ID: ******* – Mr. ******* *******

Dear Ms. *****:

I would like to formally notify the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of San Diego that Mr. ******* is making serious malicious defamatory and libelous statements against the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization and he has filed a fictitious BBB complaint. Unfortunately, any organization that requires a fee in the financial aid circle is immediately categorized as a scam.  This is not fair to our organization and we have to constantly educate and inform others about our legitimate and effective establishment. Pleased be aware that all of the SFRC’s literature has been thoroughly examined and approved by our legal department.

The Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) is an independent organization devoted to helping students apply for and receive the best available free merit and need-based financial aid.

It certainly appears that Mr. ******* has rushed to his judgment and seeks to damage the SFRC organization reputation without thoroughly examining our establishment.   Please be advised that we do not take these allegations lightly and the SFRC legal team will take the appropriate legal proceedings to preserve and protect its interests.

Please note that Mr. ******* is not our client and we vigorously disagree with his subjective unfounded statements about us. Thus, I am formally demanding the BBB of San Diego to remove this fictitious complaint. THIS FALSE COMPLAINT SHOULD NOT AFFECT OUR BBB RATING.

If you have any further questions pleases call ###-###-#### or email me at ********@studentctr.org.

I have reached out to SFRC via phone on or about 9/11/13 to ask to speak with a rep about obtaining a refund because we never received any financial aid nor information from this company to assist us with obtaining college financial aid. I emailed them on 9/16/13 to request a refund without any confirmation/acknowledgement from them. Again, I emailed on 9/23/13 and to date I have not received any form of response.

Desired Settlement: A full refund of $65 - the fee which is guaranteed a refund if unsatisfied.

Complaint: I believe that this company is a scam...can't believe this has happened to me...I should know better...I sent them 59.00 in hopes of helping my son get financial aid for his college...I thought they had access to other forms of financial aid then what I was aware of...how dumb of me...I sent them a check and we have not heard hide nor hair from this company...in the letter I have it clearly states that if student does not receive any financial aid the entire processing fee will be returned.

Desired Settlement: I would love to have my money returned to me...now do I think that will happen? Not so much, but that is what I would like to happen.

RE:  Compline ID: ******* – Ms. ****** ** *****

Dear Ms. *****:

I would like to formally notify the Better Business Bureau of San Diego that Ms. ***** is making serious defamatory and libelous statement against the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization and she has filed a fictitious BBB complaint.

For the record, the SFRC processing Division received Ms. *****’s Son SFRC form in May of 2013, we processed it and sent her a comprehensive SFRC package.

If Ms. ***** was not satisfied with the SFRC comprehensive package, all she had to do was to send us back the SFRC package or a copy of her cancelled check and we would have been happy to send her a full refund check.

We have no record of Ms. ***** contacting our office or emailing us.  In fact, this is the first time we hear about Ms. *****’s case and we wished she had contacted us directly and we would have been glad to assist her.

We utterly disagree with Ms. ******’s subjective opinions and inaccurate information about SFRC organization, please be advised that we do not take these allegations lightly and our legal team is prepared to take the appropriate legal proceedings to preserve and protect its interests.

We demand Ms. ***** to immediately cease and desist her defamatory and libelous statement against us and submit a written apology to our organization. Once our demands are amply fulfilled, we will show our good faith and will demonstrate our outstanding customer service and will start her refund process.

To be clear, we will demand the following:

1.      A written apology for making defamatory and libelous statement (“saying we are a scam”)

2.      Send a copy of her cleared check (front and back) from her bank or some sort of proof of payment to SFRC and we will send your full refund within 10 business days.

Send certified mail to:

Consumer Response: Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *******, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The company states that they sent me a package...I did not receive anything from them... I did try contacting them with the phone number I had and it did not work...at that time, I went online to see if I could find another phone number and when I googled their name...I found many different emails/letters advising that this company was a "scam" ... There were many of these letters...not just one or two... I did not jump to this conclusion without some evidence...but, had I received a package from them and not have seen this info online I would not have reported this to you... The fact that this company is asking me to send them a written apology is laughable....I did not do anything wrong. At this point I just would like a refund... Also, I do not see why I have to get them a copy of the cashed check...if they sent that "package" to me as they said they did...they obviously got paid! And, for me to get a copy of said check, will cost me 20.00! There is no reason whatsoever they should request that of me!

Not sure what more to do...If they are a legitimate business, fine...but, I never received a thing from them...

Regards,

****** *****

RE:  Complaint ID: ******* – Ms. ****** ** ***** – Letter # 2

Dear Ms. *****:

Please inform Ms. ***** that this is not a laughable matter and we do not take her defamatory and libelous statements lightly. In fact, we are preparing a legal notice to her to cease and desist her false allegations against us. Yes, Ms. ***** definitely did something wrong by calling us a scam and we firmly demand a written apology.

Unfortunately, any organization that requires a fee in the financial aid circle is immediately categorized as a scam.  This is not fair to our organization and we have to constantly educate and inform others about our legitimate and effective establishment. Please note that the SFRC legal team is constantly contacting the website owners that publish false allegations against us with legal notice to cease and desist their false allegations.

As stated earlier, we have no record of Ms. ***** contacting our office or emailing us.  We do not understand why she could not simply dial our phone number or at least email us first before mischaracterizing our organization.

The SFRC processing division did send Ms. *****’s son an SFRC package but she claims she did not receive. Just because we mailed her son an SFRC package that does not mean we got paid. We have instances where our clients place a stop payment on their check, close their bank accounts or have no sufficient funds in their bank accounts. Therefore, we have a strict refund policy that requires proof of payment.

Almost all banks have an on-line system that provides free services to print cleared checks and statements. We will even  accept the section of her monthly bank statement that shows a $65 check that was cleared on the appropriate time frame (We just need a reasonable proof of payment).

Again, once our demands are amply fulfilled, we will show our good faith and will demonstrate our outstanding customer service and will start her refund process.

If you would like to discuss this matter further, please e-mail me at ********************** or call 1-888-730-2775.

Complaint: This company claims to be helping students get additional financial aid. The "package" they sent me was useless and was information easily accessible. The documents they sent me originally looked like official Department of Education documents and seal. They asked for 65 dollars and did not give me any good information the would apply to me. I feel this company is fraudulent. They information they gave me was for other applications, some of which did not even fit my profile, like they claimed. I would like my money back and I am currently seeking it from the company.

Desired Settlement: $65 plus any damages they feel are appropriate.

RE:  Complaint ID: ******* – Mr.  ******* ***********

Dear Ms. *****:

Once again, I would like to formally notify the Better Business Bureau of San Diego that Mr. *********** is making serious defamatory and libelous statements against the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization and he has filed a fictitious BBB complaint.

If Mr. *********** was not satisfied with the SFRC comprehensive package, all he had to do was to send us back the SFRC package with a copy of his cancelled check and we would have been happy to send him a full refund check.

All of the SFRC literature has been thoroughly examined and approved by our legal department. We strive hard to inform students that the literature sent is by Student Financial Resource Center organization and to ensure this, we publish the following in our literature:

  1. We have our name noticeably in large fonts embedded in our logo, letter and form.

The U.S. Department of Education logo appearance is significantly different than ours.

a.      The U.S. Department of Education logo depicts a noticeable TREE and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

b.      The U.S. Department of Education logo depicts a SUN with lines going across and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

c.      The U.S. Department of Education logo imprints “DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION” and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

d.      The U.S. Department of Education logo imprints “UNITED OF STATES OF AMERICA” and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

e.      The SFRC logo depicts  the following and conversely the U.S. Department of Education logo does not:

a.      TORCH

b.      BOOK

c.      COLUMN

d.      EAGLE

e.      LEAVES

f.       GRADUATION CAP

f.       The SFRC logo imprints “STUDENT FINANCIAL RESOURCE CENTER” and conversely the U.S. Department of Education logo does not.

g.      The SFRC logo has imprints “SFRC” and the U.S. Department of Education logo does not.

RE: Complaint ID: ******* –  ****** **** *******

Dear Better Business Bureau of San Diego:

This the first time we hear about Ms. *******’s case and we wished she had contacted us directly and we would have been glad to assist her. If clients do not contact us, we are unable to assist them.  The SFRC organization is in the customer retention business and we strive to provide exceptional customer service to all customers.  SFRC is dedicated to exceed our customers' expectations on a daily basis.  We provide a 24/7 automated phone system, daily live message call center, and have a website that distinctly explains our program.

Unfortunately, any organization that requires a fee in the financial aid circle is immediately labeled as a scam scheme.  This is not fair and we have to constantly educate and inform others about our beneficial and valuable organization. It certainly appears that Ms. Tayllor has rushed to judgment and seeks to damage the SFRC organization reputation without thoroughly examining our establishment.

We agree with Ms. *******, they should not pay for FAFSA and that is why we have published the following on our website under Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

Q. Is the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization affiliated with any educational institutions or government agencies?

A. No. The Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) is an independent organization and is not affiliated with any educational institutions, government agencies, or funding sources.

 Q. Should students pay to fill out the FAFSA?

A. No. FAFSA stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid—the key word here is FREE! The submission and support of the FAFSA are free. Go to www.fafsa.gov to fill out the FAFSA online and you can also contact the Office of Federal Student Aid at 1-800-4-FED-AID.

 Q. How does the SFRC program differ from FAFSA?

A. FAFSA, which is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is managed by the Office of Federal Student Aid. The Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) is an independent organization devoted to helping students apply for and receive the best available free merit and need-based financial aid.

 Q. What are the benefits of SFRC?

A. SFRC offers the following unique benefits to students:

·        SFRC saves students valuable time by conducting precise extensive research to match each student's qualifications and background to available free merit and need-based financial aid programs.

·        SFRC provides students with a comprehensive resourceful guidebook containing essential financial aid information, an extensive list of free merit- and need-based financial aid programs, and clear instructions on how to apply to our specifically selected sources—all in one convenient, multipurpose package.

·        SFRC protects students from e-mail SPAM. When you search the Internet for financial aid opportunities, most financial aid websites ask for your e-mail address before you can access their database so they can send you e-mails you did not ask for and do not need.

·        SFRC provides students with a concise list of free merit- and need-based financial aid programs that  appropriately match their specific backgrounds and qualifications. Most financial aid websites merely offer unwieldy and unusable lists of financial aid resources that are irrelevant to students’ qualifications and background.

  • SFRC encourages students to apply to all available financial aid programs, not just those at the federal and state level. Many students only fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), failing to research or apply to the many other non-federal local and national merit- and need-based financial aid programs available.

·        SFRC does not sell students' names, emails, or home addresses to outside vendors. We strictly adhere to the Privacy Act Laws and do not share students’ personal information with any outside organizations.

·        SFRC protects students from superfluous commercial advertising. Most financial aid websites claim their information is free, then, they attempt to lure students to subscribe to or pay for unwanted items such as magazine subscriptions, car loans, books, auto insurance, or credit card offer. The SFRC website and literature have no hidden check boxes that attempt to sell, advertise, or promote any commercial products.

In June of 2013, the SFRC Processing Division processed and mailed an SFRC package to:

***** ** *****

**** ******* **

******** ** *****

It certainly appears that Ms. ******* has rushed to judgment and seeks to damage the SFRC organization reputation without thoroughly examining our establishment. Please be aware that Ms. ******* is making direct untrue and defamatory statements against us in her BBB complaint. This is a serious offensive allegation and we do not take it lightly and our legal team is prepared to take the appropriate legal proceedings to preserve and protect its interests.

We demand Ms. ******* to immediately cease and desist her false libelous statements against us.

However, to show good faith and demonstrate our outstanding customer service, we will do everything possible to cooperate to resolve this case.  Please ask Ms. ******* to send us a copy of her cleared check from her bank or some sort of proof of payment to SFRC and we will send her a full refund within 10 business days.

Complaint: College Financial Advisory (CFA) claims that they help college students to apply for the maximum merit and need-based financial aid programs.A letter sent by the College Financial Advisory (CFA) to my daughter stated that (and I quote):"Fill out the form, enclose the refundable processing fee, and mail both in the pre-addressed envelope. The entire processing fee will be returned within ten (10) business days to students who do not qualify or do not receive financial aid."My daughter filled-out form and enclosed a check for $59.00, and sent the form to CFA by registered mail. The check was cashed a few days later. After several months of not having received any feedback from College Financial Advisory, and since my daughter did not receive any financial aid from the college she attends, I called the CFA at 1-888-730-2775. I was called back by a person called Fay Ara?, and after I explained the situation she responded very aggressively that we should had called earlier, because the time window to ask for a refund was 90 days after the application was received by the CFA.This is not what the letter states (see above). The letter is very clear. It says that the fee will be returned within 10 business days if no aid is got - period. No if's and no claim or refund additional procedures are mentioned at all.We think CFA is breaching a service contract explicitly stated on their letter, and it is doing so across state borders using US Mail service, thus becoming a federal felony.

Desired Settlement: REFUND and a written apology for not honoring their contract.

RE:  Complaint ID: *******   – Mr.  **** ***** *******

Dear Better Business Bureau of San Diego:

We conducted a thorough research and discovered that in April of 2011, we received an application from ******* ***** (**********), it was processed in May of 2011, and a Financial Aid Package was mailed to:

STUDENT PROFILE NUMBER (SPN): **********

******* *****

*** ********* **

****** ******** ** *****

****

Please review Mr. *******’s response to our inquiry questions; you can noticeably realize that he waited OVER TWO (2) YEARS to contact us with an alleged problem with his daughter’s application and Financial Aid Package.

Furthermore, please carefully review Mr. *******’s original complaint; he conveniently elected not to mention or reference any dates which would have revealed his case is over two (2) years old. More importantly, Mr. ******* failed to disclose and mention that in the CERTIFICATION SECTION (where it was signed by the applicant) of our application published in 2011, we had imprinted the following:

“Most foundations and organizations have a limited amount of funding each year and in the event that funding is not received, the applicant can apply for a full refund within six months of receiving the financial aid package.”

We definitely did not breach any service contract and we are not apologizing to false claims.  Please notify Mr. ******* that he waited immensely too long (over two years) to contact us and his refund cutoff period is over and we are regrettably rejecting his refund request.

Consumer Response:

Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *******, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

It is true that I waited a long time to record a complaint. Unfortunately, I misplaced the original letter sent by College Financial Advisory to my daughter and the record of sending it, thus I had no documentation to support any complaint until recently, when I found the letter. However, as a matter of principle, I want to record the complaint to help future students not to make business with this dubious enterprise.

It is also true that my daughter later received, as you call it, a financial aid package with an application. However, that package DID NOT OFFER ANY FINANCIAL HELP THAT MY DAUGHTER COULD APPLY TO, THUS SHE DID NOT APPLY, AND SHE DID NOT SIGN ANYTHING, AND CONSEQUENTLY, THE STATEMENT IN THE ORIGINAL LETTER STANDS, THAT IS, A FULL REFUND IF NO FINANCIAL AID IS GOT WITHIN 10 BUSINESS DAYS, NO IFs, NO BUTs.

Let me state that my main interest in filing this complaint is not financial;   It is to make known that this business is, in our opinion, following dubious business practices and making misleading business statements and offers. My daughter and myself felt swindled by this College Financial Advisory (CFA), and the fact that they are mentioning contractual inuendo like"fine print" and "overdue" circumstances to not make good on their straightforward initial offer supports our opinion.

RE:  Complaint ID: *******   – *** **** ***** ******* – 3rd response

Dear Better Business Bureau of San Diego:

We provided a service for Mr. ******* back in April of 2011, and we provided him a comprehensive Financial Aid package to use. Yet again, Mr. ******* fails to disclose that in the CERTIFICATION SECTION (where it was signed by the applicant) of our application published in 2011, we had published the following:

“Most foundations and organizations have a limited amount of funding each year and in the event that funding is not received, the applicant can apply for a full refund within six months of receiving the financial aid package.”

We vehemently disagree with Mr. *******’s subjective opinion and unfounded allegations. Please carefully review Mr. *******’s complaint and you will discover enormous inconsistencies and false accusations.

Bottom line, according to our application certification section, Mr. ******* had six months to contact us to request a refund (he failed to do so).  Therefore, we are rejecting Mr. *******’s refund request and we are asking the BBB of San Diego to remove this improper false complaint.

Complaint: This company has sought out individuals not familiar with the student financial aid processes. They send out letters which look "official" with a government seal - or a seal which looks to be official. Additionally, they request a payment of $65.00 for services that do not require money, namely applying for financial aid for college/universities. My elderly mother was taken advantage by this company. She had no idea that money should not have been exchanged. When calling into their "company", it is only an "answering service". There is no one to talk to. The "operator" says that she cannot help, but can only take your name and will email the company and have them call you back. This is an outrage. The company website only lists their answering or call center to "apply" and the email address literally leads no where. This business is terrible and is taking advantage of individuals.

Desired Settlement: I am requesting reversal of the $65 paid for these non-existent services.

Complaint: Hello,I mailed in $65.00 for services to obtain scholarship money for my son for college. On several occasions since March 12, the date I sent in the payment, my calls have not been returned. Then today, I spoke to a ******* at 888-730-2775 and asked to be forwarded to a spokesperson and she said she could only take a message, so when I asked her for her companies address, she hung up. I am very concerned I have trusted a company for financial aid for my son. I was working so hard on trying to obtain funds for my son as a single mom and when his school was listed on the top of the form, I trusted it and now, in a moment of non chaos, realize I should have never sent the $65 into the company without recieving a promissory note for a scholarship or financial aid for my son. I would like my $65 back from this company, but mostly want you to check this company out as there are several parents like me who are always trying to secure funds for our students for college and if they are not being honest then I want them reported and for parents to know they are not accessible and do not return calls to parents and at this point are not a person of their word.Thank you,****** ** ******

Desired Settlement: I would just like my $65 refunded back to me as it does say that in their letter in their words, but since I have not received any call backs, have not been allowed to be transferred to speak to anyone and they have not provided any information to me via email, mail or any other correspondence, I beleive I am fairly and justly able to recieve the money I sent to them in good faith returned.

Complaint: This company is a fraud. They send you an official letter with your students University Name on it, to apply for available scholarships. They claim to match information you send them to these scholarships. They ask for $65 dollars to find the information for the busy parents and student but never answer you. After some time and noting they cashed my check I tried calling the phone number they give you, 1-888-730-2775 which is a dummy number answered by a phone service, ****** **********. They ask for your name and number and tell you they will call back. When questioned the employee of answer California openly admitted she knew this was a fraud but she was instructed not to spend too much time on the phone with me.They also have a dummy website, www.studentctr.org. Which has blank pages beyond the initial first page.I googled them and this operation has been doing this since 2008 and no one has stopped them. They also have a dummy BBB site set up that appears to take complaints about the company which I have forwarded to sandiego.bbb.org

Desired Settlement: I would like my $65.00 refunded.I would like to know why they have a dummy website and phone number.More importantly they should should be shut down.

RE: Compline ID: *******  –   *** ******** *  ********** (***** C.)  – ***** ********* **********

Dear Better Business Bureau of San Diego:

Please carefully be aware that Mr. ******** is making alarming defamatory and tremendously unfounded statements against the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization and has filed a fictitious complaint.

Allegation #1:  “SFRC has a dummy website – SFRC has blank webpages beyond initial first page”

This is absolutely not true. You can easily visit the SFRC website at studentctr.org, sign in with provided Student Profile Number (SPN) and clearly you will realize that Mr. ********’s statement is totally false.  Please ask Mr. ******** to provide us sample blank SFRC’s website pages.

Allegation #2:  SFRC has a dummy phone number

This is not true.  Please feel free and call our toll-free phone number at 1-888-730-2775 between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM EST Monday through Friday. All initial nationwide toll-free phone calls are transferred to a local SFRC’s live operator message call center. Provide your contact information, along with the Student Profile Number (SPN) listed on your SFRC letter, and an appropriate SFRC representative will call you back promptly. Please ask Mr. ******** provide who from our call center stated we are fraud. We welcome and look forward to review and verify Mr. ********’s specific facts and sources.

Allegation #3:  SFRC is a scam

This is absolutely not true. Unfortunately, any organization that requires a fee in the financial aid circle is immediately categorized as a scam.  This is not fair to our organization and we have to constantly educate and inform others about our legitimate and effective establishment.

Allegation #4:  SFRC has a dummy BBB site setup

This is obviously not true. Mr. ******** is now claiming we have created a dummy BBB website that in fact is created and controlled by you. Please inform Mr. ******** directly that this is not true.

It is very interesting that Mr. ******** believes SFRC is a dummy organization and does not exist; nevertheless, he is openly requesting a refund from such a fictional dummy.

We are a proud organization and we will demonstrate our outstanding customer service by doing everything possible to cooperate to resolve even this perturbing case.  Please ask Mr. ******** to return the 2013-2014 SFRC package (if received) or a copy of his cleared check from his bank or some sort of proof of payment to SFRC and we will send him a full refund within 10 business days.

Send CERTIFIED mail to:

SFRC - Refund Department

3268 Governor Drive, Suite 144

San Diego, CA 92122

Or

Send an email with a PDF file of the cleared check image to: sfrc_refund_dept@studentctr.org   or info@studentctr.org

It certainly appears that Mr. ******** has rushed to judgment and seeks to damage the SFRC organization reputation without thoroughly examining our establishment.   Please be advised that we do not take these allegations lightly and the SFRC legal team will take the appropriate legal proceedings to preserve and protect its interests.

SFRC vigorously disagrees with Mr. *********’s subjective and astonishingly unfounded information about us.

We strongly believe BBB needs to do a better job investigating consumers’ complaints before submitting it to businesses.  Consequently, I am officially demanding the BBB of San Diego to remove this fictitious complaint.

If you would like to discuss this matter further, please e-mail me at ********************** or call 1-888-730-2775.

Consumer Response:

Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *******, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regarding the website, when I entered my daughters profile number the response was a blank page. When I clicked on the tabs at the top of the website I got a blank page. I'm not sure how this is considered a working website.

Regarding the phone number I didn't receive a return phone call until the BBB contacted the company with my complaint. After calling the number three times throughout the day with no call back I googled SFRC and found posts by other people warning the public that this company was a scam which prompted me to call the BBB. Also, I questioned the people working for the answering service and asked them if they were aware that this was a scam and they agreed and informed me that they were instructed not to stay on the phone calls too long. I asked if they get many calls of this nature and implied yes they did.

I also found a website.http://www.bbb.org/northeast-california/business-reviews/college-admission-counseling/student-financial-resource-center-in-sacramento-ca-47038528...which I read to the BBB and they informed me this was not an official BBB website. They asked me to forward this website to another branch of the BBB which I did .They also informed me there were multiple complaints aprox. 37 filed against this company.

When I combined all these findings: business that has answering service answering calls all day, no secretary, no call back, website not functioning when I used it, multiple complaint fillings with BBB, odd non-legitimate BBB website associated with the SFRC, and public warning on the web that this business is a scam, I became worried that I disclosed my daughter's personal information to a company that seemed not to be professional. This is what caused me to file a complaint with BBB. The office person informed I could file a complaint with Federal Trade Commission.

After doing this, I received a phone call from SFRC, from a blocked number, which a legitimate company would not do. The person was rude and when I asked them how they received my name and address they replied, its too late for that question. They informed me I would have to get a copy of the check they cashed on 4/3/2013, send it to them, to receive a refund. I'm not sure why I have to send a copy of the check, a legitimate company would have an accounting of the transaction but I was told they did not and they needed it to remember to send me my refund. They also informed me that I would have to wait 14 weeks for any findings they would come up with. I then told them no, that this 14 week time frame was never mentioned in the letter they sent me, that this was not acceptable and I wanted my money back.

If I had called the BBB and found a clean record for this company I would not have come to the conclusion this company is questionable. Which caused me to file a complaint and research them further.

I also called Southern Methodist University, whose name was on the letter I received from SFRC, and for lack of better word, is the hook that made me respond to the letter with confidence. SMU told me they are not associated with this company, they don't know why their name was on the letter and they do not endorse this company. They have this on their website, warning other students and parents and had I thought to check this company out before sending them money I would not have done so.

I feel justified making a complaint against this company in conclusion with the information I have found out about them.

Regards,

*** ********

Complaint: Miss leading product / service information. Lead to believe that this was a Student Financial aid organization in which you apply for financial aid directly.... All they provide is a booklet with all of the financial aid opportunities that are already available online or through your local College. VERY miss-leading!!!! They also state that you can apply for a guarantied refund if you do not receive any of the financial aid, but when you call after no financial aid is offered, you get a call center that takes your name and number then never get a return phone call.... Crooked business that preys on those seeking financial aid for education!

Desired Settlement: Please have them refund the $65.00 that I sent under good faith for services not rendered.

RE:  Compline ID: *******  – ****** ***** ******

Dear Better Business Bureau of San Diego:

Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization is officially alerting the Better Business Bureau of San Diego that Mr. ****** is making serious deceitful and defamatory statements against SFRC and he has filed a fictitious complaint. Pleased be aware that all of the SFRC’s literature has been thoroughly examined and approved by our legal department.   However, Mr. ****** is making the following false allegations:

Allegation #1:  SFRC is a scam

This is absolutely not true. SFRC is an independent organization devoted to helping students apply for and receive the best available free merit and need-based financial aid.

Allegation #2:  SFRC’s logo looks like the government entity

This is not true.  The U.S. Department of Education logo appearance is significantly different than ours.

1.      The U.S. Department of Education logo depicts a noticeable TREE and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

2.      The U.S. Department of Education logo depicts a SUN with lines going across and conversely the SFRC logo does not.

Department of Education logo does not:

a.      TORCH

b.      BOOK

c.      COLUMN

d.      EAGLE

e.      LEAVES

f.       GRADUATION CAP

6.      The SFRC logo imprints “STUDENT FINANCIAL RESOURCE CENTER” and conversely the U.S. Department of Education logo does not.

7.      The SFRC logo has imprints “SFRC” and the U.S. Department of Education logo does not.

Allegation #3:  SFRC Stole my identity

This is absolutely not true.  SFRC acquires student names from numerous private independent companies (search the internet and you will see a great deal of companies that sell student names—WE ARE NOT ONE OF THEM).  Our goal is to assist students obtain free merit and need-based financial aid and the only information we have is the student name, home address and sometimes the school name (THAT’s IT).

Allegation #4:  SFRC will not give my money back

This is the first time we hear about Mr. ******’s case and we wished he had contacted us directly and we would have been glad to assist him. If clients do not contact us, we are unable to assist them. Please keep in mind that Student Financial Resource Center organization is in the customer retention business and we strive to provide exceptional customer service to all students.  SFRC is dedicated to exceed our customers' expectations on a daily basis.  We provide a 24/7 automated phone system (1-888-730-2775), daily live message center staff, and have a website that distinctly explains our program.

Complaint: I was scammed! I received a very official letter looking like it came from the Federal Board of Education. Actually thought it was FAFSA. The letter was addressed to my son and or to his parents. The letter stated it is time to submit for your upcoming years financial aid and that the deadline was January 31, 2012. After my sons first year enrollment and all the stress that came along with making ends meet, I actually believed this letter was real. It looks real! I thought it was from the Federal Government. It looks like an official letter from the government! I paid them a processing fee of $65.00. For what? I spent 2 hours last night (4/2/13) filling out the real application and here I thought I was way ahead of the game by submitting this false application to the Student Financial Resource Center back in October.I realized last night that we had not submitted my sons FAFSA application. That's when I pulled out this letter and realized I was scammed. I searched this company on line and I am embarrassed to learn that these people have been around for a while and have been getting away with what feels like fraud to me. I cant believe I fell for this! I have already been trying to contact them but get a big run around; not there, will call me back and the newest one was the office hours are from 9am to 1pm and here it is 3pm.

Desired Settlement: I still have all the original documents from them. I have a copy of the check they cashed.I want my money back and want them investigated for fraud.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *******, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.

I have received payment in full and I am satisfied with the resolution. However, I do not agree with the The Student Financial Center. If they were devoted in helping people, why must they disguise they're  letters to look official? If they were truly in this service to help people, why did we not receive any help? The only thing we got from them was a book explaining how to fill out a FAFSA application. This was the only thing we got after 6 months of them having my $65.00! If I had known that they were not an official department of the real federal government, I would never had wrote them a check.

Like I said, I will drop my complaint but I am not satisfied that this business is doing the right thing.  Please close this complaint.

I have attempted to call all available phone numbers for this facility without ever making contact with a representative only with their answering service.  I sent an e-mail on 3/7/2013 with no response, so to say that I haven't attempted to make contact is false.  The letter sent to my home is addressed to my daughter or the parents of.  They have obtained information that I nor my daughter has given them and are attempting to get more information.  I do not want this company to have any of our information and I want to know how they obtained the information they have.  I believe this company is attempting to get more information for a "service" that no one of this household asked for.  I will go to everything length I need to protect my family from a "company" that is attemptting to obtain information without permission.

Regards,

****** ****

RE: BBB  CASE#: ******* - ****** ****  – **** ******* *** *********, ** ***** – Response #2

Dear BBB of San Diego:

As of today (03/30/2013), we have not received any written correspondence from Ms. ****. We examined all emails sent to the SFRC at info@studentctr.org for the past 90 days and we did not find any correspondence from her. Ms. **** is making a false and inaccurate statement.

As stated previously, SFRC acquires student names from numerous private independent companies (search the internet and you will see a great deal of companies that sell student names—WE ARE NOT ONE OF THEM).  Our goal is to assist students obtain free merit and need-based financial aid and the only information we have is the student name, home address and sometimes the school name (THAT’s IT).

Again, we vehemently disagree with Ms. ****’s subjective opinions and inaccurate false information about our organization. At this point, we are turning this case to our legal team to take the next appropriate legal proceedings.

If you would like to discuss this matter further, please e-mail our legal team at sfrc_legal_dept@studentctr.org

Additional Notes

Complaint: I would like a full refund of my application fee. My reason for this was because after I sent the fill-in sheet and the check back to SFRC by mail, I went to my school, South Louisiana Community College, to confirm about that letter that was sent to me by mail. When I showed them the letter, the financial aid department at my school said that my school was not involved with this program and told me that it was possibly a scam. Regardless of whether it is a scam or not, I just want to be refunded because the program is not affiliated with my school. I have also not received any other materials or correspondance from SFRC whatsoever. I even went to my bank for assistance about it and when we went online, we noticed that there were numerous complaints from many websites, including feedback from customers on the Better Business Bureau. Now after talking to the organization on the phone, they became very defensive when asking about a refund. They were also under the impression that I've offended them for this accusation. Eventually, I had to end the call because I was not able to continue talking to them while they were so angry. My banker also called the organization and was hung up on. I never meant any offense, I was only speaking the truth of what I've been confirmed of, and only want the refund for the $65 I sent to them under false pretenses. The fact that the operator became so upset from this conversation left me feeling even more upset about this organization. I was told that getting a refund would not happen. After reading the SFRC responses on this website, I am eager to see if they decide to change their decision, as they have offered all other persons complaining a refund. Please help me resolve this issue so I can move on.

Desired Settlement: I would like my $65 refunded in full.
