Complaint: Amber Property Management entered into agreement to perform a re-piping of our community. They should be acting as an advocate for the homeowners association but are not in telling and allowing the contractors to damage personal property without the homeowners consent and forcing the homeowners to pay for the repairs. The property management company did not have the authority to tell or instruct the contractors to damage the property without written consent from the homeowners. Amber exceeded their authority by instructing the contractors to damage personal property!!

Desired Settlement: Repair or replacement of the damaged property at no cost to the homeowner. They are cutting holes in cabinets as well as breaking glass when the work could be done by going through drywall and patching (which they are doing in most areas to include drywall patch, texturing and painting) instead of cutting and leaving holes in cabinets or glass. So to get the job done with minimum damage is left to homeowner to pay additional fees. Any damage done to remedy the problem should be at the expansion of the association and not the individual homeowner since it is an association problem

Here is my response to dispute ID ******** 

 

Amber Property Management works at the direction of the Board of Directors,  Amber PM did not enter into an agreement with the contractor, the Association – *** ***** *** did.  The Board of Directors consisting of elected homeowners in the *** ***** Community make decisions for the entire community, they do their best to keep homeowners informed and in this case sent out notices, a 16 page information packet and held town hall meetings for the homeowners to attend and ask the contractors and Board members questions ahead of the project. The *** ******* project has been discussed at every *** ***** Board meeting since December 2014 and the contractors and the project Manager have been available at all monthly meetings and outside of meetings for and questions or concerns. The Project Managers phone number was also given to *** *******.  Issues that Amber Mgmt is made aware of are passed onto Board members and discussed at Board meetings where they discuss and make decisions (No decisions are made by Amber PM).  In the case of *** *******, it is our understanding that at the recent Board meeting, all of *** *******’s issues were resolved.
