Complaint: The laboratory billing department is very inefficient returning phone calls and communicating to me regarding my lab bill that I have been receiving from Long Beach Memorial. I have been trying to get a response since April - and today finally, I got a return call from office manager ******- who can only say that they have been taking care of my $ 146 bill with Long Beach Memorial- who is really the one at fault.It is very hard to sympathize with her because - my numerous phone calls- resulted to a collection notice for my laboratory work.I am insured and pays my health insurance- I should not be involved in poor billing and office inefficiencies.

I am writing in response to the complaint submitted on 91212014 and was assigned an ID of ********

Our office draws blood as a courtesy and we send the patients insurance information and diagnoses to the lab so the Jab can bill the insurance company for the patient.

The diagnoses codes that were sent to the lab her insurance denied payment and the patient received a bill. She called the office and asked if we could do anything about her bill and the diagnoses codes. The doctor was asked if the labs could be receded and the patient did have some codes that were resubmitted. They were sent to the lab and the lab rebilled her insurance company as a corrected claim and that is in the process now.
